Huey Magoo's Chicken Tenders - Centerville — Restaurant in Centerville

If I could rate lower than a one, I would. We decided to try this place on a nice Saturday afternoon for the first time. It’s directly across the street from where we live and we often used to visit the business that once sat in its place. When we entered, there was no line and we reviewed the menu. The lobby was a mess and tables were dirty and chairs were misplaced throughout the restaurant. We walked up to the counter to place our order of two sodas, a five piece combo and a three piece. It was on his screen and our total exceeded twenty dollars. We did not get a receipt. They gave us a placard with a number on it to deliver our food. About ten minutes later a blonde lady delivered the five piece meal to the table and took the placard. We waited about ten more minutes and watched as other tables were delivered their food. Walked up to the counter and asked about our missing three piece. The first thing the blonde asked for was our receipt… which we never received. She said we probably weren’t charged for it. She wanted to argue that we didnt pay for it and that’s why we didn’t receive it. She was waving the printed receipt she had-asking is this your receipt? I said we never received one but it was on the cashier’s screen. I told her to forget it; I no longer wanted it. She ran to the back and magically appeared with a three piece meal already made up ready to go. She told me not to worry about it because I didn’t have to pay for it. Then she proceeded to stand in the kitchen where we could see her pointing and talking about us. I guess I should have recorded or taken pictures of that. Needless to say our first time here will...

Started coming here over a month ago... I've already visited about 20 times. The chicken is of the highest quality... The grilled chicken is fantastic even without the Magoo's sauce. The fries are seasoned well vs bland Raising Cane's fries. The toast is great. Flavorwise, this is the best chicken fast food out there... Here is the problem: while the grilled chicken tenders are great, I keep getting screwed on portion size. If you come here for lunch you should be ok but if you come here for late dinner, more than likely your grilled tenders are more like nugget sized. This has happened about 8 times now. Today was even more frustrating because not only were the tenders ridiculously small, they only gave me 6 on a 7 tender meal. I never complained but I complained only to receive a 7th mega small tender. I love this place but I think they are giving out there bigger grilled tenders earlier in the day and whoever orders later is getting screwed. Only solution is weight your portion size. Again I've been coming here a lot and telling a lot of people... Just to really feel gilted.... Which is really weird after even bringing this to the attention of the employee. Again, this has already happened many times. A real bummer considering the food...

My 1st time here. I ordered 5 tenders meal. I got 2 breaded and 3 sauced. It was $12. I'll start with the positives. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Tenders were juicy, fries were seasoned, ranch is good, sweet sauce is good. Lots more options then Canes. Their toast is large. Negatives the fries even though seasoned still lacked crispyness, the tenders were okay, the sauced ones were better. The toast while larger than Canes taste like absolutely nothing. No butter or garlic flavor. The coleslaw tastes like water. I ordered ranch with my tenders and was given magoo sauce. The employee changed it out and handed me a new sauce. I tasted it and it was Bleu cheese. I don't mind Bleu cheese but wanted ranch. I could also tell by the consistency and crumbles that it wasn't ranch. I asked her for another ranch. She grabbed another sauce, opened and stuck her nose so close to it, smelled it and handed it to me. I asked her for another ranch that she didn't stick her nose basically in. She got rude and said I'm trying to make sure it's ranch. I told her I appreciate that, however they should know the difference without having to smell them or maybe have them labeled. I think I'll stick to Canes and just throw some seasoning...
