PROS: Fast, clean, provided outdoor covered seating, by gone era charming theme, walk up window, limited but east access parking, handicapped accessible, well-made quality hamburgers like home bbq grill style and relatively friendly staff. Toasted bun was a added benefit and added flavor and sturdiness to my burger.
CONS: Burgers are on the smaller size yet larger price, standard frozen hamburger patties could use seasoning during and after grilling process as they were a bit bland for my palette. (Fresh chuck blend in a place like this is a must for good old-fashioned greasy hamburger 🍔) Staff is a bit curt at times even when not busy, they kind of rush guests. At nearly $6.00 for simple stand alone burger ala cart it would seem fries 🍟 should be included.
I was impressed with the cleanliness throughout, paint was clean on their buildings and outdoor dining area, food was very fresh and made to order, charming burger basket style presentation upon delivery. Charming 1950's/60's vibe and it works for them, featured outdoor music, flowers by outdoor dining and over all worth another visit in this Local...
Read moreNot. To. Be. Missed! An authentic local spot making classics on the spot with local ingredients when you order it, baby. The corn dog with fry sauce....are you kidding me?! Bacon jam burger, husky burger, or just a classic cheeseburger? Can't go wrong. I went with the bacon jam and I'm a happy boy. We visited on a dreary day looking for a pit stop on our way back to Seattle from Thanksgiving holiday in Oregon, but this ended up being the highlight of the trip. Historic spot that's been here since the 1940s and the current proprietors couldn't have been nicer – in particular, I appreciated the hospitality of their dog who was sitting near the counter and watching life go by.
I went here a week ago and I'm still dreaming about it, writing this review just now. Think about that.
My only regret is not knowing about this place sooner. Oh how many drives I've taken down I-5 that would have been better with a shake and some fries from Harold's. Needless to say, I'll never miss an opportunity to stop here again. Looking forward to the...
Read moreWe stopped in here to grab a bite.. we weren't starving, so we split the Harold's Burger, tots, and chocolate shake. We were both very pleased with our food! The buns were hot and crispy from being fried on the inside bottom and ALL of the vegetables ( we chose tomatoes, lettuce, onions & pickle) & beef were fresh and tasty. The chocolate shake was flavotful & hand made, not the syrupy goo in most places. Saw them use REAL peanut butter for a shake!! The fry sauce they serve with their fries was more than enough for our fries and dipping burger, and we really enjoyed this meal. The tots were hot & crispy. Very friendly service, family owned, and I could tell they were busy but smiling through their masks as we chatted. With Covid, walk up only (they have a cover for the weather), and picnic table covered areas to eat outside.. Lines can get long, but i can see why on a weekend with good food. Prices are comparable with fresh burger joints that are non fast food chains..give these guys a try & support a good...
