One nice warm summer day I decided to take a walk downtown. To my surprise I became incredibly parched and looked for a place to wet my whistle. As I was getting near death with heat exhaustion and utter confusion of being in the Sahara desert, I came across The Juice Box.
I figured, I haven’t had a juicey squeeze of goodness since the good ole days of “Squeeze It’s” and wanted to see what all the hype was about. As I entered through the pearly gates I got a rush of air into my eyes (which made me tear up). As I got to the counter I was trying to fight back my tears as the bartender asked me what was wrong. As I explained my situation he adverted my eyes to “The Screens of Amazement”.
As I stared at “The Screens of Amazement” my eyes started to dry out due to my indecisiveness from all of the options to choose from. As the bartender helped me, I ended up with two flights of the nectar of the gods.
As I was halfway through my nectar, my stomach started to shake. As I was about ready to call 911, I realized I was hungry. As I skimmed the menu I came across the vast selection of hot weiners to stuff my mouth. Scanning down the list I chose “ Do the Puyallup” and the “Fiery Hawaiian”.
As I entered the fiery wiener into my mouth, a flavor explosion attacked my taste buds that I could not handle without a loud expression. As I downed each bite, the jalepenos and mamas lil peppers attacked my mouth as if Mt. St Helens was about to erupt again.
As I shot back the nectar of the gods to cool down the eruption in my mouth, I started the process of engulfing the great city of Puyallup. As I downed each bite, the flavors danced around my mouth like dancing with the stars the most refreshing breathe of air compared to the fresh piece of Hawaiian island that was about to be created.
All in all, if you’re looking to find a local watering hole that has the normal everyday grub and watered down beer, this is not the place for you. The staff, the drinks, the food are all above and beyond a normal tap house should have and that’s what makes me coming back...
Read moreAlmost, but not quite. Took my wife in here on date day and it was okay. One gal working the counter was friendly and hard working, the other was not really into the whole serving the customer thing. One game was missing components and one was complete. They had a descent selection of games, but they were disorganized. Super NES on the retro TV was cool. Placed a bit close to the ten top, so not very good if there is a lound group of annoying people there. The owner needs to put in shades or tint the front window. At sunset the blinding light is brutal. Food was also mixed. Pretzel was weak and over priced, but the Italian sandwich and garlic fries were exceptional. I ordered the pig sandwich without mustard and it came with heavy mustard. Normally I give a lot of leeway when eating out, but come on. I ordered a sandwich, not some difficult order and I expect it to be made right. One plate was perfect and the other weak, guess half the staff is trained and half are slackers. I probably would still have given the place four stars because the cider was really good. The entrance flow is just not done well and the tables are not great. I was hoping we would hang out here for a crazy long time, instead we played a game and...
Read moreWe just had lunch here with some friends, and the entire experience was excellent. I've been here several times before, and never been disappointed. The food is creative and very good, there are many, many great choices for drinks, and it's fun to have local musicians jamming on stage when we're here.
Today, we were informed before ordering that there had been an event last night, and some of the normal menu items were not available as a result. Also, a massive phone order had been placed just before we arrived, so our prospects did not appear to be great. Not in any great rush, we ordered anyhow and found a table. One of the staff came with a basket of french fries, apologizing for the potential delay due to the big order. Our food arrived not long afterward, and was every bit as good as I remembered. All the staff we encountered were cheerful and friendly, and made us feel welcome and appreciated.
Will definitely be back, and will also tell anyone who cares to listen about...
