My family gets pizza hut pretty often because we love the wings and sides, and I love that I can use the curbside option. Great food! Crubside is awesome.
And until last night I've never really had an issue that was worth mentioning. Last night however I ordered online and it said it would be ready in about 20 minutes. It took me about 45 minutes to get there as I was driving home from work in the Olympia area and I took the back roads through Rochester. On the tracker after you order it said my order was ready about 20 minutes before I even got to the store. When I get there I sign in to say that I'm there, I wait close to 10-15 minutes and no one has come to give me the food or contacted me in any way. At this point it's whatever, I know stuff happens, but I get out to go inside thinking maybe my app didn't communicate that I was there.
I go in and tell them at the counter I had a curbside and they inform me that they are waiting on donut bites. Okay, I get it if you're backed up but this is nearly an hour after I placed my order and there's only 2 tables with people sat inside and the parking lot was nearly empty. They could have at least popped their head out to tell me, especially when the online order form said the order was complete. Maybe online orders like mine could back it up, but I was still being friendly and patient. I paid while I was inside cause I was paying cash and told them to keep the change as a tip. The girl at the counter talked to me like I was stupid for doing this and didn't even say thank you. It was a generous close to 50% tip as well, not just a dollar, so the reaction was unexpected.
I wait ANOTHER 10 minutes for my order and stand in the lobby. Keep in mind it's not a large order. 8 boneless wings, fries, breadsticks, and chocolate donut bites. When I finally get it they forget to give me the breadsticks. I ask for them and they said it wasn't on the receipt (it was and I showed them). Got the breadsticks that were already done and warming and went back to my car. Decide I should check my order just in case again and they gave me two donut bites and no boneless chicken.
I go inside again with one of the containers of donut bites and waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged. The girl who works the register didn't even acknowledge me and one of the cooks had to come help me. I informed her I was given extra of the wrong item and no chicken, and she found the chicken that had been done and waiting right away. And as the cook is doing this the girl working the register grabs her cell phone and gets on it and starts slinking out of sight. She was incredibly unprofessional and I didn't appreciate the way she spoke to me.
So as it seems all my food had been ready, but they were clearly disorganized and not working together as a team to ensure things came out properly. It took a very long time to get such a small order to me after an hour of having time to get it together and then they still messed up twice. I am mostly unhappy though with the customer service and the way they speak condescendingly to the customers.
With that being said, maybe she was having a bad day, maybe something got miscommunicated, who knows. The food was still great, I enjoyed it, and I'll still eat here in the future. But please teach your employees how to speak to customers and handle interactions if they are going to be working the front counter, and to communicate to the customers who are waiting...
Read moreThe first time I've been called to pick up and deliver from Pizza Hut. It couldn't have been a better experience. I was there to pick up two separate orders. A total of five pizza's. I have one insulated pizza bag that a friend of mine gave me who used to door dash herself. Door Dash gave me a one insulated bag but I did get the best use out of it...1,014 deliveries in my first 10 months 🤗 It wore out about them. Door Dash wants me to buy another one but I don't think I'm going to. I've been using one of my own hot bags and it actually keeps the food warmer anyway. So PIZZA 🛖 HUT... The two especially on the ball, pleasant, and very sweet helpful gal's up front gave me another pizza bag and separated the orders and even helped me with the orders to my truck. You see about an hour earlier I'd just picked up an order from Safeway and put the order in my truck. As I shut my back door a truck of similar size came from behind me and turned into the parking space beside me. I seen he was really close and went to step away but it wasn't fast enough and he hit me. God's grace because one inch more, instead of just pushing my leg against my truck, well I don't think I would have made my first pick up and delivery from Pizza Hut that day. I'm a little bit sore still but I've lived and worked through much more than this. Thanks...
Read moreWe went there (The Centralia location) for the first time last night. There was a ‘wait to be seated sign. We stood there for 5 minutes only to be told to seat ourselves. We ordered our sodas and they came without straws so we asked for them as we ordered or pizza. There was one large group of people that seemed to dominate the sole server’s time. One couple left after 15 minutes after seating themselves and not having the waitress come to their table. Meanwhile the large group was dominating her time. 30 minutes later people were seated behind us and their sodas came with straws. 45 minutes after ordering, our pizza arrived and we had to ask for straws again. Before getting them as we were down to the last few sips. I do not know if this location offers free soda refills, but we were never asked if we’d like any (even if not free, it would have been nice to have been asked -and told it’d be extra- during the middle of the long wait for our two personal pizzas. Since they only had one personal pizza, it would have been nice had they given me the choice of either accepting a pieced together personal pizza or ordering something else. Sure it was nice they went to all that effort, but ASK the customer first. NOBODY likes UNEXPECTED substitutions! My husband payed for our pizza after we’d eaten, but...
