I was very impressed by this small hidden restaurant. Just looking for a quick bite to eat my family and I stumbled across this Thai place on the back side of the Centreville shopping Center. At to say the least it was not expected to be this good! First I know it doesn't always matter but the environment of My Thai Place was very nice; the new age french decoration really fit well! Thai food is a staple in my families diet and this is definitely one of our new go to spots. The food was good (drunken noodle, Pad Thai and Chicken Panang) were all cooked very well and even had that extra spicy kick to it that a lot of Thai places cut back on now. This wasn't the best Thai restaurant i have ever eaten at but it was in the top 10 and I will definitely be going back and trying other options on the menu. Also while the cocktail was very good (Mai Thai) it was also super super strong...you have been warned. I have been told their crispy duck is the best thing on the menu and will be my next dish...
Read moreWith a clever name and a trendy shabby-chic interior, it's no wonder why we decided to stroll in for the first time two years ago. We are loyal customers for many reasons, one being their phenomenal customer service! The food is top notch. We start every meal with their light and airy spring rolls that have the perfect crunch, served with a sweet and spicy sauce for dipping. Our go-to meals are the Panang curry (packs a spicy kick) with tofu and pad see ew (sweet and savory) with chicken. We also really enjoy their chicken fried rice. They offer several vegan and vegetarian options. No meal here is complete without their mango sticky rice for dessert! Fresh sliced mango (when in season) and sweet sticky glutinous rice covered with a sweet coconut cream and topped with toasted sesame seeds. It sounds like an odd combination, but the flavors blend together to make your taste buds explode with happiness. Trust us,...
Read moreWe were really craving fried whole fish so we decided to stop by here for dinner. We ordered a papaya salad to start - the salad was fine but the peanuts in the salad were old. When nuts get too old and have that weird taste? Theirs had that - get new peanuts! We were also one of only 3 tables in the restaurant on a Saturday night the whole dinner, but a simple papaya salad took a while to come out (compared to other places usually) We then ordered the whole flounder with chili sauce on the side. It was $40 market price that day. It came out very brown - overfried. Again, how do you not keep your eye on a fish frying with only 3 tables? Needless to say, the fish meat was dry and not tender. The chili sauce also was way way too sweet. There was no "chili" taste to it, it was more like a sweet onion sauce. The servers were all nice, but the food...what a...
