Ben Gong has always been my favorite place to get milk tea, and I go there every week. But today I have to leave this bad review for the customer service of someone that works there.
Lately, I've started seeing the lady with red hair working there most of the times. She always ruined my mood with her attitude every time I come.
One time, when I asked for tiramisu milk tea without ice but she refused to do it. She claimed that it would not taste good without ice, and told me I should ask for less ice. Even I told her my house is 40 minutes away from there and I will put ice later when I get home, but she put less ice anyway. What is the point of giving customer the options ( extra ice, regular ice, less ice, no ice) and then refuse to follow their requests??? I came a different time to get the tiramisu milk tea without ice when the female owner took my order, and the owner didn't complaint anything about it. I wonder why that red hair lady like to force customers to follow her recommendations 🤔🤔🤔
Another time when I tried to get there before they're closed. I arrived 2 mins before they were closed, and their Open sign was still on. But right after I open the door, the red hair lady turned to me and said " we're closed" then she turned the Open sign off right away. I was really mad about that. So rude.
Today she took my order, after I ordered 3 drinks, she asked if I wanted a plastic bag because it would cost 5 cents extra, so I said " yes, let me get the plastic bag please". She should've made sure the other lady that making my drinks to give me the bag but she didn't, so that lady didn't give me the bag. When I asked for it, and told her I already pay for the bag. This lady that made my drinks turned to her and told her what I said. The red hair lady said in Chinese that " No, she didn't pay for the bag", then she checked the register for my order and said " Oh, she did pay for it, give her the bag" in Chinese again. They assumed I didn't understand their conversation but actually I did. You think I lied to you just for a 5 cents bag?????
If you don't like to deal with customers you could quit, no one force you to do this job when you keep being rude to your customers like that. Maybe I will make sure that red hair lady quit or get fired before I come back there again. So bad customer service come only from that...
Read moreWhat a horrible and sour experience.
My friend and I went in yesterday afternoon to get some boba tea, I had my mask on, but he forgot his (both vaxxed). As soon as we walk in, my friend was yelled at to put a mask, we asked if they had one and they said no. No problem, I took my friends order and went in alone to take it to go, however you can immediately sense the hostility. When I get to the front of the line, I order my friends Taro tea and my boba tea, the menu they had was very confusing, and they did not seem to understand between language barrier and music they had blasting, I had to repeat each line several times. While waiting for the drink to be made, you didn’t have to speak the language to know these people have no respect for their clients. Whoever that short round girl with the purple hair, you need to understand I am fully aware you were talking negatively of not only my friend not having a mask, but of my appearance too, for reference I am middle eastern, with a beard, and apparently to this place that raises all kinds of alarms even though we were nothing but polite walking in . When I get my order, they hand me a cheese tea which I have no idea how they got that as an order, when I asked for taro tea and black milk tea. The drinks were so small, gone in 4 sips and not worth 7 bucks each. I’ve actually never had a worse experience, most Asian shops are usually nice, enthusiastic when they greet you, but not here, cold, judging, and hostile bordering racist. Which I didn’t feel “adventurous “, wish I stuck to Kung Fu Tea they deserve my business a lot more than this place. Do yourself a favor and go...
Read moreI got the brown sugar bubble tea (dahongpao) and matcha and both were really good. I got 'less sugar' for both and it was just right because the bubbles were covered with sugar and balanced out the less sugary milk that was combined. The only reason why I gave three stars is because the way the store is set up is very confusing, and I did mobile order but I wish there was an option to pay on the website instead of going inside paying at the store. There was a line of people to order bubble tea and although my bubble tea was already prepared, I had to wait my turn in line to pay. It would be great if you guys could put the option of paying on the website to skip waiting and just pick it up at a different section of the store, to prevent confusion. There were also a bunch of customers waiting for their drinks at different parts of the store so I was confused as to who was waiting to order and who was waiting to just receive their drinks. Other than that, I definitely recommend trying this place out. Hopefully you guys make some upgrades for the ordering/picking up options because I don't know if I will go again if I have to wait...
