Jersey Mike's recently opened up in the bustling Plaza 183 in Cerritos. I used to drive a bit of a ways to the Buena Park location, so I was glad to hear one opened up in my neck of the woods. With coupon in hand, I made my way here to pick up a quick Saturday lunch.

Immediately walking in, the feeling of crampedness crept up on me. The ordering line was very tight, and if a customer has to back track, things can become quite clusterfricky. One of the counter crew asked if I wanted a hot or cold sandwich and jotted down my order.

Entrees can come as a sandwich, wrap or tub (salad), all for no additional cost. I decided on a tub.

#56 Big Kahuna Cheese Steak tub- Grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapeno, melted white American cheese with added tomatoes, extra onions, pickles & banana peppers. The steak was juicy & tender, the cheese meltingly gooey. The other ingredients were fresh & well represented, but I didn't care for biting into a banana pepper stem. Better quality control needed for that.

For my bag of chips, I went with Miss Vickie's BBQ flavored kettle-cooked chips. These were delicious. Thick, crunchy with excellent BBQ flavor. Other brands to choose from are Lay's, Doritos & SunChips.

My fountain drink was part soda water, part one of the unsweetened flavored teas. I remember it having papaya in the name, but I forgot what other flavors it had in it. Whatever it was, it was refreshing and hit the spot. There are also bottled drinks on hand, including craft sodas.

Seating is minimal. There are a few tables, with stool seating behind the ordering line. There are a few al fresco tables, which I believe are shared with Afters Ice Cream. Service was okay. The person taking my order & the one ringing me up were hospitable & friendly, however the one who handled my tub wasn't. When I asked for the additional items to be placed in my Big Kahuna Cheese Steak tub, he seemed rather annoyed. Hey man, I just want my order the way I want it. I asked politely, as I am apt to do. I wasn't being a d-bag or nothing.

Parking is in a private lot at Plaza 183. Jersey Mike's is located on the left of After Ice Cream & adjacent to Chennai Tiffins & Thai Originial BBQ.

While it's convenient to have a Jersey Mike's so close to home, the lack of comfortable space inside has me leery of coming here other than during off hours. The Big Kahuna Cheese Steak tub was satisfactory, and having freshly sliced deli meat is preferable to the pre-sliced variety, but I don't see myself being a...

I tend to stay away from this location because of the customer service and the cleanliness. However I was feeling under the weather and needed food for my son and myself I was also happy to us Grub hub for the first time. Placed our order at 4:18. Received confirmation that our order was in the works and would be delivered by approximately 4:50/5 o’clock makes sense there was only two sandwiches and two bags of chips ordered and we are only 1.5 miles away. Needless to say I called an hour later to find no record had actually been kept for when our food was made or picked up by the Grub Hub driver (spoke to someone named Sandy/Daniel) all I know is it was going to be 5:30 and our food still was not received. Not giving this location another try.

I see you replied to my review and this is the exact response I was expecting. The point is your people had no record on when they actually made my food and when they actually had it ready and available to be picked up for the driver. As a hardcore athlete, I train daily, count my calories and always watch what I eat. Across the street from a Subway I patron constantly, I decided to give Jersey Mike's a try. To my surprize I was presented with a savoury, tantalizing sandwich. Jersey Mike's is correct ,not all sandwiches are the same, "better!". As the first time there I knew nothing of the menu but liked what I was looking at. Fresh meats and cheeses as well as freshly baked bread. Not at all like subway, though I like Subway, I would highly recommend this place. The staff was friendly, knew their product and I let them guide me. #13 was highly recommended by staff as well as a patron. And #55 & 56 seemed luridly appealing to me. But as I originally stated, I count calories and watch what I eat. So I chose the lowest calorie sandwhich in their arsenal. I expected a bland sandwich worth its calories.WOW!
