Frida Mexican Cuisine Cerritos, California It was good. We walked in and were seated fast. I am sad to give this place a 7/10. This place is extremely overpriced. #resaturant #cerritoscalifornia #fridamexicanrestaurant #mexicanrestaurant #foodreview #resaturantreview #tryingnewrestaurants

First time here (and maybe last). Restaurant is nice inside and we arrived a little before brunch ended. We made an RSVP so we got seated right away. As I went to the table, the seats were dirty. Like, as if some sort of drink spilled and was slowly drying and making the seat look sticky. So she got a guy to wipe it. Then the other side of the seat was dirty (I guess they only wipe the exact area you show them.) so as I got ready to sit, the table was dirty. Left over rice crumbs on it. So I pointed that out and she used a wipe to clean it. Finally the server comes over and she brought me a water. I didn’t even know she brought it. I turned around and it was on the table. Then she was on the other side of the table and as I’m looking at the glass, I see a small bug (maybe a knat Idk) going down the straw and went right in the water!!! We’re on a roll so far with this not so great first time visit. She took it away and brought another back but by then I didn’t want to drink anything. My friend ordered a strawberry daiquiri, which came in what looked like a baby tumbler glass (no fancy presentation with the drinks). We ordered our food which was meh, in my opinion. Presentation was nice, but the flavor just was not hitting the spot at all. The best thing was the chips and dip and live band. Otherwise, not worth a second trip.

I'm giving it a 5 start just because every time I have been at Frida's, I have received excellent service, and the food is great. To be honest, I just wanted to upload a photo of their Molcajete dinner but after reading some of the bad reviews I felt very disappointed that some people are way to sensitive and it's my personal opinion that sometimes that could turn into a bad-one star-review. So here are a couple of things that I can suggest (from my own experience as a waitress) if your waiter/waitress is busy or forgot about you, because God forbid that may happen, lol!! Get up and kindly call them, don't sit around waiting for 25 min. Although *you may feel that it may not be your responsibility to do it, I would totally do it just to get my food in a timely manner. Also, remember this is not a fast food restaurant. If your food is not what you expected, talk to a manager privately. Sometimes, we tend to forget that there is always a manager on duty that we can bring our concerns to. I'm sorry if this review sounds like a slap on the hand, but sometimes we don't realize how a food tantrum can hurt a business and the families who work in it, over something that could have been communicated to the manager. THE END! P.S. Try their molcajete 🔥

Positives in all the important areas--food, service and atmosphere. A friend of ours recommended Fridas in Lakewood after we said we were looking for a good Mexican food restaurant in the area. We arrived around 2 PM and entered. There's a wall mounted waterfall type wall fixture on the wall outside making for a peaceful entrance to the restaurant. Here's a short preview of the restaurant. A solid 5 stars. The place is peaceful but lively in it's own way. We were greeted by employees on our way in and once seated, our server was awesome. Different servers eventually made their rounds to our table during our roughly 45 minute visit. They were checking to make sure we were good. There were zero issues. This was an awesome experience, delicious authentic food, an awesome server, excellent servers who waited on us, and a pleasant atmosphere. The food was fresh, delicious and had excellent flavor. I had a carne asada burrito, plus we tried chips and guac, as well as the sopes as an appetizer. Here, they only used refried beans, but they were still flavorful and delicious. This is a must visit Mexican food restaurant that's easy to get to. There's also plenty of parking. This place is highly recommended.

This place Was pricy but the food was good. Unfortunately I got one of the more expensive plates (Arrachera Norteña) and my wife got the Diego which had more food and was more delicious. Next time I'll get the Diego or Frida plate. This was the first time we went out since the pandemic started. When we arrived there was a lot of open space and the tables, though close (enough that the person sitting next to you at the other table could bump into you if they leaned back) We decided to eat here. Before our meal arrived the place was packed and I was slightly uncomfortable due to how close everyone was. It's a popular spot and the food is good. This seems to me more like a place you come to celebrate a special occasion (first time out of the house once March was our special occasion) but it's not a spot to frequent unless you wanna break the bank. Just an FYI: 4 of us had one round of drinks (palomas), a queso fundido appetizer, and 4 plates. Then a round of Cokes. No dessert. The bill was $250 sans-tip. Maybe having saved $ not eating out during pandemic gave me a bit of a shock. Worth it? Not sure, but if you don't mind the price it really is delicious.

So I Went to Frida’s for the first time on Saturday January 27th to celebrate my BFF’s birthday. It was a beautiful restaurant from the moment I walked into it the ambiance was incredible and friendly plus beautiful furniture and lovely artwork 🖼️ on the walls!!! The service was fantastic Caesar our waiter was very nice and friendly and helpful and very attentive which we truly appreciated! The food was delicious and comes in big portions so bring your appetite lol 😂 The cocktail menu was great lots of choices and they have a beautiful bar area with televisions and also a great outdoor selection too for sitting. My food was delicious and the salsa selections were delicious with the chips. My Cadillac Margarita was amazing and refreshing. All six of us loved our food and I’m sure I’ll be back with my husband. Our waiter Caesar should be applauded for great customer service and going above and beyond what we expected.
