This place has some of the best subs around however I most likely will not go back. I ordered 2 meatball subs and they asked if I wanted hot peppers so I said I wanted extra hot peppers. The girl never told me they were EXTRA to begin with and after I got home and looked at the bill it was almost 25 bucks for 2 subs and a small bag of chips. She ended up charging me 1.50 4 times for extra hot peppers. What I am most irritated about is the manager (I assume was the manager) told me everything extra costs money. They are PEPPERS!!!!! His example to me was if I ordered a steak at a restaurant and wanted mushrooms on it should it be free. That's a steak house and why are you arguing with me to begin with! You are a sub shop and when I go to Jersey Mikes they don't charge me extra for some jalapenos. Way to nickel and dime your customers. On Top of that I know they can adjust the sale in the system but they told me I have to come back for them to run the card. I will not be back to this thievery. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one is the sub was delicious. Tell your customers when they will be charged extra for something!! Its not about the money its...
Read moreWhen Dave's opened in 1997 I was barely graduating from a dishwasher to prep cook at the Market Square Bistro. The owner would buy the entire kitchen staff lunch from Dave's. We were only open for dinner so the daytime allowed us to sample local staples. Dave's was a clear favorite of ours. The owner of the Bistro had graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, and is extremely picky. I live in Colorado now and rave about this place constantly. I took my wife home to meet my family a long time ago and this was one of our first stops. She still talks about how great the subs were and how nice it was to eat by the falls. Now I try to buy extra bottles of the sauce anytime I am home so that I can have a little bit of Chagrin Falls in Colorado. I am so glad Dave's has stood the test of time. I look forward to a sub every single time I am back home for a visit. Now I just need to convince them to overnight a few subs to me! Oh, and Dave has always been welcoming. From the time I was 17 and he opened to me now being a few months away from 40. Truly one of my favorite places...
Read moreBeen a fan of Dave’s my whole life, grew up in the area and have been coming here as long as I can remember. Ordered at #27 Grateful Dave (and they specifically requested I pay in cash, somewhat odd) and when I got back to my office and took a bite, I saw there was no turkey on the sandwich. So I called and let them know and took the turkeyless sandwich back so they could see and remake it. The woman on the phone didn’t believe me, and supposedly the owner made the sandwich himself. When I got back to the shop they seemed very suspicious (maybe thought I was scamming them to get extra meat or a second sandwich?), and instead of making a new sandwich, they handed me a couple slices of turkey in foil and sent me on my way. Very odd and off putting experience, I barely got an apology. Very disappointing, especially if the owner was the one responsible for the mistake and not properly making it right. I did ultimately enjoy the...
