Overall: Food was very good, but I'll let them get into the groove of things for a month or two before going back. I'd also ask them to add some regular salad options, and give salads up front if the pizza is going to take a while. Detailed: As a Chagrin Falls resident, I was so excited to see this historic building be revived and turned into a cool restaurant concept. Architecture and decor are phenomenal, and they did a great job of creating a comfortable and airy space for diners - lots of windows, plenty of seating, etc. I went just a couple days after their initial opening, and have some mixed feelings. We ordered 2 pizzas, cheesy bread, and their antipasti salad. The pizzas were awesome. Yes, they were small, but they were delicious and filled us up. Cheesy bread was just as good. The antipasti salad tasted good, but it wasn't really a salad...it was more of what I would expect to see on top of a lettuce salad. They don't actually offer any lettuce salads - that's one thing I would highly recommend they add to their menu. Service was also pretty slow, and I waited a good 40 minutes for my food after ordering, but again it was only a couple days after opening - that'll get better. I ordered takeout in person, because they didn't allow online or phone orders at the time (probably because they were so busy). When you order the pizza "sliced", they cut it with a pair of kitchen shears...I don't see that lasting, as it takes forever for him to do that. Regular pizza cutter would increase throughput. It would also be really nice if they could give you the salads up front while you wait for your pizzas...less hungry customers = happier customers. Finally, the kid at the register didn't explain the process...that I would receive a text when my food was ready, and I was supposed to go grab it myself from their warming area. Also didn't give any indication of wait time - that would have helped. I'm glad we tried it, and would definitely go back, but I'll give it a month or two so they can get their process down...
Read moreOMG. If I could give ZERO STARS 🌟 I WOULD. I picked this place because I saw it on TV. Never Again. We walked in and put in our order and went to sit at the window and Laura who I think was a manager Barked at me "CAN YOU NOT TOUCH THOSE" because I moved some metal pizza trays that would have been in front of me. Then the wait....Now I have eaten a lot of pizza and it usually takes 10-15 minutes, and since we were the only people in there save for 2 other people that looked like they had been put their order in, I didn't think anything of it. But we waited 25mins before asking when we could expect our order and were told 10 MORE minutes. I needed something to drink to take some pills and was told that since a water-main broke that I would have to pay 2bucks$ for a bottle of water. Which after being in pain for 10 more minutes I asked Delaney (a teenager that looked like a deer in the headlights every time I had a question) to ask the male manager Earle. She then came to our table of 2 with 1 bottle of water. Then when I asked for the 3rd time was instructed to help myself. Then while contemplating with my hungry party if we should just leave, Laura FINALLY brought our food over. I said to her "Oh just in time we were about to leave" and Laura says " We did the best we could under the circumstances" which was said snarkily. ZERO APOLOGIES BY THE WAY. Also one of the teenage workers walked through the restaurant with uncooked pizza dough on his hands...GROSS (teenager with a white and black hat with shorts on). We don't live in Chagrin Falls which means we came a LONG WAY to be BARKED AT, and pay $32.86 for 2 personal sized pizzas. Yall I was NOT SUBTLE. The people in this restaurant knew we were NOT enjoying ourselves and NOBODY CHECKED ON US. I had to ask them to close the door and it was 35° outside. NOBODY asked if there was anything they could help us with. The WORST PART is that the pizza was DELICIOUS. I say the worst part because Good food can make you excuse...
Read moreOrdered through their online system for pickup at 6:45, so I was naturally surprised when I got a text at 6:20 that my order was ready.
I called, only to be put on hold for 5 minutes while I listened to the server take orders and stand around chatting with her coworkers.
When she finally remembered I was on hold, she claimed that the ticket said the order was for 6:30. It wasn't, but either way, I wanted it remade closer to when I actually placed it for. She ducked and evaded, and finally just said "Well we keep it under a heat lamp", as if people order wood fired pizza so it can sit in a box that's under a heat lamp for half an hour 🙄
Picked it up and, wouldn't you know it, the ticket clearly said 6:45 too. Between the inability to follow order instructions, the poor customer phone service, the outright lying about it all to me, and the inability to work with me on a resolution, this place is a pretty easy one-and-done for me. Zero interest in going back.
Food: The pizzas were cold and limp, but fine. The artichoke and bacon one held up best due to the texture of the bacon. The sausage and banana peppers didn't do much for me. We ordered hot honey as well which helped, but it was really just honey with seemingly decorative red pepper flakes, and didn't have any heat to it; still, honey is great.
We also got the bubbly cheesy bread, which was the standout. The bottom was partially burnt, and it certainly would have been better fresh and warm, but the texture was great, particularly the interior, and it broke apart into pieces easily.
Again, I'm sure most of this would have been better fresh, but I wasn't given the opportunity to try...
