Luckily there isn’t an option for no stars, because that’s how poor my experience was at Batsi. We were there for a private dinner, that we were forced into. Originally we attempted to make reservations on the main floor in order to enjoy the full experience with the dancers etc., but they advised they double booked due to speaking to multiple customers at one time. We then were forced into a private room for 3 hours later than the original time. Due to this, the reservation fees increased by $100. After securing the room we were later misinformed about a minimum spending amount, which we were advised the $500 deposit went towards our tab. We called multiple times prior to the event and were advised that we would have to call back later to speak with a manager. Finally, we obtained someone and they advised of what we found out to be misinformation multiple times, stating that we only had to spend $1500 and then the deposit would be deducted. The day of the event they attempted to push our reservation back another hour due to a party going over in the room we reserved. We asked about compensation, because this wasn’t our first time being inconvenienced by the staff. The first time we asked about compensation the rep disconnected the line rudely. We received another phone call stating that it would be pushed back just 30 mins, and we were then promised us a complimentary bottle of champagne by the manager. About 15 mins later they called back and stated that we could come still at 11. We arrived and the space was still not ready. We had to wait about 30 mins, so this caused us to have rushed dinner due to it being very close to closing time. We didn’t have any dancers come in and give the experience. No complimentary bottle that we were advised about. They stated since they called us back for the original time that the complimentary bottle offer was off the table even though we were still pushed back reservation wise due to the time of seating. They then attempted to con us out of an additional $500 after speaking with multiple reps, the “first manager” stated, that we were misinformed due to the time we called, in other words advising that her entire staff wasn’t up to par on policy. Then she continued to debate back and forth with us, then we asked who is her superior. Manager #2 comes out and attempts to do the same debating with us, while the waitress is trying to rush us out, and saying it wasn’t her fault and she needed a payment. Finally after about 30-45 mins of debate, because they were closing and ready to leave, they decide to rectify the issue. It was also a lot of discrimination surrounding the whole experience, and it truly came out when trying to rectify the issue and when we were first seated. It appears because they saw a group of African Americans, that they possibly assumed we weren’t able to afford the tab, because our treatment changed drastically after our selection of items from their menu (multiple hookahs, a bottle, drinks, and multiple entrees/appetizers).After the issue due to the time we were told we better hurry before valets leaves, because we may not be able to get our cars. I will never recommend this establishment to anyone, because the amount of money spent here was nowhere near equivalent to the quality of customer service we received. As a member of management for a Fortune 500 company that prides themselves on excellent customer service, the lack of solution oriented skills, basic customer care skills, and understanding you all are representation of the brand makes me cringe. They only care about your dollars, and don’t have any regard for your as a paying customer, or taking accountability for their errors. The owner may want to consider management/hospitality training for their staff, and also make sure the entire staff is up to date on all policies and procedures. 0 out of 10...
Read moreWe celebrated my daughter 35th birthday on Saturday, January 14, 2023. 🎉.Great venue & nice vibes. But our party received very poor service from our waitress. She couldn't remember our orders. Our party was given a 2 hour window for our reservation of 10+ ppl w/a mandatory $300 deposit that will be applied to my daughter bill. It took atleast 30 minutes for our table to received their alcoholic bevs. Our food took about 50 minutes. One of our guests never received her food after waiting over hour for them to finally tell her your food is free which was very appreciated of waiting over hour. And I ordered a $50 steak w/mac n cheese and my steak was supposed to be cooked med, it was very dry and had no type of seasoning or taste to it. I'm also a non-alcoholic drinker and asked our waitress over hour for a steak knife, a bottle of water, A1 sauce, and a glass of ice....which I think should be done without you asking over & over again. And believe me, she gave us all a looked as if we were bothering her. I finally received my items one at a time. By that time my steak was cold and then she rudely say to me, 'you didn't order mac n cheese Really???? To put the icing on the cake our never not once waitress apologized for errors nor tried to correct her error and we were rushed from the table right after we song happy birthday. Miss Elliott & her party was in a private room across from us and I guaranteed her service was top notched!!! Still seems crazy to charged for a cake that you bring and they just bring it out to you. Our bill was over $800 + and this waitress pulled my daughter and her friend aside and demanded another $30 tip... By this time my daughter was stressed throughout the whole rushing & frustration from this waitress messing up 5 of group orders, my sweet daughter just gave her those $30 not because she earned it, but because she was demanding towards my daughter & her friend who was responsible for collecting every ones money. My daughter has a very good hearted/sweet person and definitely didn't want to cause more frustration on her special night. She gave it to this waitress after we spent over $800 + dollars. This mandatory 18%+ tip for the waitress for horrible service definitely doesn’t seem fair. Not saying she doesn’t deserve something but it should be based on the service provided not the price of the bill. Luckily we paid attention to the bill we were charged for the food the one of my guests didn’t receive as well as a couple other things. We truly enjoyed the entertainment, and music vibes especially the decor of the venue. The food was decorated nicely but some of it wasn't good at all, and the potatoes tasted like box mashed potatoes. Our entire party was a 1st time that had a bad experience coming to Batsi and we all agreed that we won’t be coming back!!! S/N: I called the very next day to complain and the young lady took my name and number and said, someone will be getting back in touch with me. I never received a...
Read moreSigh I really wanted to love this place, BUT… We had reservations for 9pm last night (Sunday) for a date night and were excited to try a new spot. Even after reading some reviews, I figured we’d still give it a try. We arrived, confused with the parking situation, but were told they would park for us (valet) for $20. After reading some reviews, I see most people said it was $10, so I’m not sure why there was a difference on this night. Upon entering, the hostess who may also been the manager, advised us to bear with them, as there were only two servers. We were seated right away and within 15 minutes, a waitress came to take our drink orders. At this time, we only ordered water, which only comes bottled. Again, the waitress mimicked what the hostess said, that they were very short staffed due to multiple callouts. Once the waters came, we ordered our meals. We were told the pasta, lamb chops and herb chicken were the favorites - I ordered the pasta with shrimp and he the herb chicken. It didn’t take as long as I thought to come out, maybe 20 minutes or so, as it wasn’t crazy packed. The food…hmmm…presentation was spot on, flavor…not so much! The food was screaming for seasoning. The shrimp; however, was really good. With no salt or pepper on the table, I opted to take the rest home. The waitress asked if a box was needed and stated she thinks they’re out, but will check the storage outside. She came back and said they had no boxes. Sooo, do you want me to take your plate home with me?! The food wasn’t great, but I’d still like to take it with me. She returned and said that they have big catering pans and could put my half plate of pasta in it lol Mind you, while she’s hunting for to go boxes, many are being distributed by other staff members around the restaurant. Not sure how she missed this. At this point, we decided to order drinks - a dirty martini for me and a smoked old fashion for him. They had no olives, so she recommended the lychee martini and mannny questions came about this smoked old fashion. The waitress wasn’t very knowledgeable about the bar options at all. Drink orders were in and we waited…and waited some more. We asked the hostess about our drinks and if they actually made smoked old fashions (b/c the waitress was confused), she said yes they made them and would check on the drinks. After her speaking to the waitress and bartender, the drinks came out about 10 mins later…they were good. We asked for the check and the experience was definitely not worth the $145 tab. There was an additional charge to make the old fashion “old” of $2, that lychee martini she recommended was $25 and of course the automatic gratuity was 20%. So, this date night was $165, including valet cost. Overall, this spot isn’t worth it! On the bright side, it’s very nice inside. The DJ was really good, but it’s very loud. Definitely more of a lounge than restaurant....
