DD Fish 炉鱼 — Restaurant in Champaign

We decided to come here on a snowy afternoon a little after lunch hour figuring with the title of the restaurant, it had to be good for grilled fish. The menu revolved around their fish specials which I found kind of high. We ordered the sea bass with chopped pepper. When the fish came out, I was throughly impressed since it had a good amount of spices and the presentation was majestic and you felt like royalty sitting waiting to be served. The service was quick, staff were courteous and the fish had burners on the bottom keeping the broth nice and hot. The presentation alone was worthy of the price point. I was amazed when the owner told me that they do not use any MSG and everything is prepared fresh every day. I recommend this place to everyone whether you prefer spicy food or not. I had a great dinning experience here. We had a party of 4 and everyone loves the black pepper grilled fish. We ordered one sea bass and one golden pomfret. Both fishes are fresh and well-made. I prefer the golden pomfret which has less fishbone. The black pepper sauce is amazing with the fishes. I also loved the thin fried potato chip that served with the fish. The price is very reasonable with such fresh food and pretty dishes. The restaurant environment is comfortable the the owner is very friendly and professional. I just happened to find this new restaurant after work. I tried out last night. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered 2 entrees, one was a whole fish with hot meat sauce, another one was fish fillet. The food was way beyond my expectations. I have been searching for a good sea food restaurant in this area for a while, this would be the one. I would definitely return repeatedly.
