I have been a loyal Jip Bap customer for the past 5 years. The food is tremendous, the service is great, and the employees are very kind.
The food at jipbap is completely awesome. Great tasting and high quality. The coronavirus policy, however, is not. I entered the store today without a mask and was immediately asked to leave disrespectfully by the bespectacled male cashier , despite the fact that I am fully vaccinated. Generally, since I am mature and don't like to cause a scene, I would have just gone to get a mask, but I didn't have any on hand today. Instead, I had to leave the restaurant and walk to Chipotle to get a Chicken Burrito. As I walked down 6th Street, the anger began to simmer within my body. I understand that private businesses are allowed to disobey the CDC and require that vaccinated people wear a mask. However, what is so shocking about the jipbap coronavirus policy is that UNVACCINATED customers are allowed to eat in the store WITHOUT A MASK. It's complete hypocrisy! Why can I not order without a mask (I was responsible and got myself VACCINATED) but other people can EAT without a mask (even if they're UNVACCINATED). What about eating food prevent someone from spreading coronavirus? The answer is nothing!
Dear jipbap management, please make a change!
I gave 2 stars because the food is rly good though. It's really really good, and pretty high quality meat/produce as well.
Edit: It seems that other customers may have possibly had issues with the same cashier. I regret being so hasty to blame the establishment, it might just be one bad apple. Awaiting an...
Read moreI love this place and always get food from here. Even just yesterday, I walked upto this place and ordered food. I had a very sweet Asian American lady at the cash counter. But today, was a sad experience. The cashier was an Asian American man with vitiligo (sorry I have to mention this, since I don't know his name). He was extremely rude, curt and was literally yelling at me, when I placed an order. He wouldn't speak, but would yell. I don't know, if he had an issue with my skin color (since I am a darker skinned person) or what.. but I hated the attention it drew to me. People in the restaurant turned and looked at me and him (as if I was causing some trouble). I was so embarrassed and left after placing the order and came back only when it was ready, to take it with me. This is a good place, but please monitor the behavior of the staff and the tone at which they speak. It can be hurtful to loyal customers or even customers in general. If the cashier had some other frustration, I understand. But that is not the way you...
Read moreVeg Review: Finally a korean place with large variety of vegetarian options. This place serves fast bowls in disposable bowls filled to the brim with good stuff. Usually rice or vermicelli is the main carbohydrate, but iwith tofu, bean sprouts n few other vegetablea the bowls pack a full meal. Many of the bowls may be served cold so if you are craving something warm talk to the cashier and they will help you out.
I would recommend going for the Tofu Green Curry, its warm, the curry tastes good and you get vermicelli and rice. Its a good lunch option as its quick. Also as a vegetarian you have quite a few options...
