Indian Chaat Café is a true gem in Champaign!
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and the inviting aroma of authentic Indian spices. The menu is extensive, offering everything from classic chaats like Samosa Chaat and Pani Puri to hearty entrées such as Paneer Butter Masala, Lamb Curry, and flavorful Chicken Dum Biryani.
I especially loved the variety of vegetarian options, including Palak Paneer and Dal Makhani, which come perfectly paired with rice or naan. For street food lovers, the Vada Pav and Chole Bhature are absolute must-tries—they taste just like the real thing you’d find in Mumbai or Delhi.
Their appetizers, like Chili Paneer and Gobi Manchurian, are bursting with flavor and perfect for sharing. To top it off, the desserts and drinks like Gulab Jamun, Mango Lassi, and Masala Chai are the perfect finish to the meal.
Prices are very reasonable considering the generous portions and authentic taste. Whether you’re craving a quick lunch box combo or a full dining experience, Indian Chaat Café delivers with quality and consistency.
Highly recommend this spot if you’re in Champaign and looking for authentic Indian food that feels “just...
Read moreIt’s 10pm on a warm summer night, my phone rings, blasting with notifications. It’s YK, hitting the group chat after his boxing class. He’s inviting us to ICC, he says it’s the best Indian food he’s ever had. We did not believe him at first but he threatened to end our friendship if we didn’t go with him the following day. After this, all the group decided to give it a chance.
My friend N was late 30 minutes, which we are so used to. It didn’t matter, we had a little chai cup while we waited. After this delicious treat, we proceeded to order and the people in charge were nice enough to give us a precious biryani sample as we cluelessly wandered through the menu. We moved to the Union to sit, and the moments we had there will be forever engraved in our memories. The taste of my Lamb Butter Massala and the garlic naan made YK’s statement make sense. Moreover, we shared all the food amongst all of us and it was marvelous. Go to ICC. You...
Read moreWe ordered samosas for takeaway, but when we opened the packet at home, we discovered two stale samosas with slippery fungi inside 🤮. It was an awful experience as we had their samosa in dine-in multiple times before, so was it like this when we took it for takeaway? That's why. We were so exhausted that we didn't go to their business to see what they had to offer. Instead, we called them, and one of the girls answered and instructed us to return the money when we visited. The next day, we went there and they denied everything like they haven’t given us rotten food, rather gave us an attitude, and refused to pay us any compensation 😠😠😞 and said ' it wont happen again ' we even said that we couldn't eat the food, how is that fair! Still their behavior! weird! It wasn't about the money; it was about how poorly they handled the matter. This is not the way individuals...
