Food here was decent but the service was horrible.
We ordered samosa chaat (on urging from the waitress that we order an appetizer because the kitchen was a bit slow that night - more on that to follow), tandoori chicken (4 pc), chicken tikka masala, and saag paneer. The samosa chaat was good and a nice little change from just samosas - though I could have just ordered the samasos and recreated it myself. Tandoori was good, the chicken tikka masala was just ok- the chicken was tough, but the sauce tasted good. The saag paneer was our favorite dish by far. Quantities were decent - we were a party of two and had plenty of tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala leftover. The naan portions were huge - if we'd realized how big they were we would have gotten two rice sides and one naan, even for the two of us we ended up with an entire piece left.
The food couldn't make up for the service though - after that night we likely won't be back. The restaurant seemed busy when we got there, so when the waitress mentioned that the kitchen was a little slow, we figured they were unexpectedly understaffed and slammed - no big deal. Our appetizer (ordered on urging by the waitress) came quickly enough, but we waited probably another hour for our entrees to arrive. I quickly realized the restaurant seemed so busy because none of the tables were turning over and everyone was waiting for food - we asked our waitress and she said this was just an average friday night and it's always like this. A neighboring table left before their main dishes arrived - the waitress spent the rest of the evening complaining to us about them leaving without paying. Running out on the bill for their appetizers and drinks is rude, but they had kids with them and I totally understand their impatience with no food and no reassurance from the staff that it was coming any time soon.
Service may be better during the week or at lunch time, and I'd consider getting take out, but I would not recommend...
Read moreI ordered from them the first time through Grubhub. I couldn't decide what to have and they were the highest recommended place so I decided to try it even though I know nothing about Indian food. I LOVED IT!!! I couldn't stop thinking about it. My wife came back from vacation four days later, and I ordered it in for us to show her.
I've now had their food on 4 occasions but tonight was our first time going to the restaurant. WOW were we missing out! The smells on arrival were intoxicating! I was hardly hungry when we arrived for an early dinner, but by the time we ordered I was starving.
The staff was incredibly inviting. While the restaurant isn't small it still feels quite intimate. There were a few large tables of people and even with all the people inside, it wasn't horribly loud. This place is fantastic for date night! And clean!
Each time I've ordered I have tried something completely different. Again I know next to nothing about Indian cuisine, so I'm trying to learn what I like and don't.... the issue is I haven't had anything from them that wasn't fantastic. The waitress we had was fantastic at guiding us through the menu and made recommendations based on our comments. This is the part that I was missing the most from trying to order on my own online. She did a great job of helping us because tonight's meal was the best I've had from them. All of their staff from the gentleman who brought out the food, to the girl serving water, were all incredibly nice and welcoming. All smiles here.
On our way out we each peeked into the bar/ lounge area and it was very nice, a real quiet comfortable place even with a fairly large gathering inside.
Tonight's host said to my wife on the way out "Thank you and come back soon" to which my wife replied "oh we will" and I...
Read moreI went to this place on a date on a recommendation. I liked the entres, they were delicious and had plenty of food. The service was okay, I don't expect too much when there is a language barrier. Though, watching a couple who came in around 5mins after us, who had the same waitress as us, finish eating and leave before we even got our entres... wasn't pleasant. However, that wasn't the part that prompted me to write this. I could live with that, the main course definitely made up for it and was worth waiting for. And if that's all you're ordering... I highly recommend trying this place out.
My problem lies in the desserts. We ordered the desserts to go bc we were in a bit of a rush to get home. They were VERY small. I don't even remember the names of the dishes since this was a few days ago... I think one was named mango Khafi and one was Jamaun or smtg like that. The mango ice cream was what I ordered. I was excited bc looking at the container it was in, it looked like I got a big dessert. I looove dessert. But when I opened it up, it was filled with ice and in the middle was what looked to me like a medium sauce cup with the ice cream in it. The ice was appreciated tho did cause the top of the ice cream to ice over. The other dessert, also in a large container compared to the actually size, was kind of like little donut holes soaked in a sweet sauce... My bf compared the taste to pancakes. They were maybe the size of a quarter in diameter. And there was only TWO. For $3 each and the size of the containers, I was expecting reasonable portions of food. Now, if that's what you're expecting... Not a big deal. I guess my suggestion would be: do a bit of research before ordering so they aren't a...
