Dark Matter Collective — Local services in Champaign

Went in today for a very challenging cover up and Jason absolutely KNOCKED IT out of the park! He was also very friendly, had a positive attitude, and honest. I knew exactly what to expect during the appointment thanks to a very thorough consultation with him. Additionally, he gave a few breaks during our session which was truly awesome of him, especially with the placement being in a pretty sensitive spot. He certainly wants the best for his clients and has more than reasonable pricing.

In addition, Dark Matter is a very clean and put together environment. The decor all runs together very smoothly with the theme. There is a lounge area next to the check in desk where you can sit and look at the artist's work being played on the TVs. All the artists seemed incredibly friendly and welcoming.

Great experience here and will likely return...

This is the only shop that I go to, to get any work done. The shop is clean, I love the vibe of the place. The décor is tasteful, and compliments the artists and their work, well. The atmosphere is welcoming, fun, open, light. The artists who work here, are phenomenal. They're easy to talk to, bounce ideas off of, they're honest and open with you. It doesn't matter if you're getting a 10 minute tattoo, or a 6 hour tattoo, you'll leave there well taken care of, and feeling like you just made a friend. I personally see Jason, his artwork and skill speak for itself. He's amazing. He has a light hand, easy to talk to, open-minded, and flexible with appointments and ideas. Jason makes sure I'm comfortable, takes breaks when needed, and makes sure I leave there with all of the instructions/information I need to care for...

WAY overpriced for the quality of work. Was there for over 4 hours for a piece that should have taken 2. Artist took multiple smoke breaks and wasted my entire day for just a simple palm sized traditional design. I had to have my trusted artist from another shop fix the tattoo a couple month later because the ink didn't stick. Only go here if you want ROBBED and shitty lines that fall out after healing!!! Had to talk the price down from $380 to $320. The quality of work was probably worth...
