Went here from the hospital on my lunch break. The food was very tasty! We had aloo tikki chaat to start, chicken biryani for a main and pista kulfi to finish. Also had some masala tea with the naan basket they provided (lovely surprise). The food felt like I was eating in someone's home, very comforting. Everything tasted fresh. The restaurant was very clean and it had a nice, calm atmosphere. Service was excellent and everything was very affordable. We will be back for sure. :) Edit: Went for dinner and wish I didn't. The staff working in the evening make quite a difference. The woman working there was rude to my partner who ordered and tried to correct her order (with incorrect information to top it off). She brought the wrong order out, insisted it was correct, and then later brought out the correct order but we were left sitting there for quite some time. There were only 2 other tables occupied and it was well before closing. We paid in cash and were told we couldn't have a receipt, and didn't receive our change.

My partner and I stopped in today for a late lunch. The restaurant is smaller but very pretty inside. Neither of us have ever had Indian food before and so the waiter gave us suggestions. For an appetizer we had the Samosas which is a pastry stuffed with potatoes and peas then deep fried. It is served with 2 dipping sauces. The light color sauce was too spicy for me but I LOVED the dark sauce. I don’t remember the name of it but it reminded me a little of bbq sauce with some apple sauce mixed in. I know that’s not what it is (I asked, LOL) it just had that flavor profile to me. We then had the Chicken Tikka Masala which is chunks of chicken breast roasted and served in a creamy tomato sauce, served with a flat bread. I LOVED that dish! Close to campus and down town Champaign, I recommend trying Masala Indian House for lunch or dinner! You can do take out as well.

Had a very good experience yesterday. We ordered Mixed Biryani that covers shrimp, lamb, peas, and chicken. Also, Bhuna Chicken Chili Masala was ordered by us. All the food was tasty. The quantity of meat in the items was really great and more than enough. Complimentary Naan with Masala Sauce and Kheer were served to us. A big thanks to them. I would like to just mention one thing. We had a little bit of difficulty in finding this place. Later found out that it is just at the Neil Street road side. The signboard of the restaurant name could have been bigger and more visible so that people can easily notice that.

I've been here for lunch before and it was a better experience than dinner. I'll only be going for lunch and checking which staff is there. The food is already not authentic so being told that my order doesn't go together was annoying. After waiting what seemed longer than usual my food arrived wrong and had to wait about 10 minutes for the lady to come back to tell her, and she was adamant that it was correct. She finally realized it was incorrect and took it back. She left part of the food that had already been sitting there, so we had to share from a small bowl because the food would get cold if we waited to start eating for the rest of the meal to come back correct. No discount or checking in to see if we were comfortable. I paid with cash and wasn't given my change or a receipt. I was told because it was cash I couldn't be given a receipt. I was very disappointed and kept apologizing to my guest because I had originally mentioned how great it was during lunch. Dinner time is not the time to go. Mind you there were only 2 other tables and one had already been eating before...

We walked in and the lady seated us. There was only 1 other couple in there. There was already water in our cups when we sat down. We did not get asked to order a drink. She said what do you want. I said sprite, she looked confused. I said I would like a sprite to drink to start. About 10 minutes later she came back with the 2 sprites. Waited about another 10 minutes she came back to take our order. Had to run back and grab her notepad. We ordered a lamb dinner. I asked how spicy is it and she said on scale 1-5. I said I'd like mine 5 please and my date said 3. She said no. A 4 and 2. I again asked for a 5. She mumbled something i could not undertake. Different languages than english. 15 min later it came out. Neither spicy at all. We each had a couple of bites and did not like it. We asked for check. She did not give us a bill. She said the number to equal the amount. She asked if we wanted boxes to go. We politely declined. Our total was $40.09. Gave a $50 told her keep the change. Quite rude when we didn't eat much and didn't want to...
