Bad experience. I simply ordered one pizza along with a bottle of wine. The waiter never checked on my table for the 40 minutes that I was there but checked on every other table. After finally checking on our table and removing our plates, he took an additional 10 minutes to hand us the check. He verbally said my order correct but the price looked off to me. I had to click "back" on the device 2-3 times to see the receipt details since he took an additional 5-10 minutes to check if we paid the check only to find out that we were charged two pizzas and a wine bottle. Yes, we were charged $60 out of a $40 order. The waiter went on to say he "mixed tables", mind you only 3 other occupied tables existed, only one which had alcohol, yet they ordered glasses not a bottle and additionally had a different type of alcohol.

Never checked up on my table. Definitely prolonged the check. Verbally stated my order but acted surprised when I showed him what was charged Made a unreal "mistake" since visually, no other table ordered an identical bottle Made two comments: When ordered the bottle: "getting drunk!" After finishing the bottle: Acted surprised

Was the waiter trying to purposely overcharge? Wanted a bigger tip? Thought we were drunk enough to just pay and go? That's what I think. I've had many drinks, a half bottle of wine won't be enough to fool me.

UPDATE FOR THE OWNER: Thanks for letting me know one of the problems your restaurant is facing, however, don't use it as an excuse for my experience. Instead, explain to me your system. How did my waiter "confuse the check" with another tables check if there was only 3 other tables and none of them had a bottle of wine? Also, don't blame the lack of "waiters" for this mistake because for some reason he stayed with the other tables as they paid their checks but when it came to our table (which clearly had alcohol consumption) he left the check and went to go talk to the cooks for about 10minutes. At no moment did he check on our table, I witnessed him do it to every table but ours, again at no moment did he even check on our table in a 40-50minute span. then prolonged our check. Are you serious? I understand the loyalty to your struggling business but don't pretend a CNN article is going to erase...

We stopped in for the first time today. The service was just delightful, the staff being excited to share with us what is special about their offerings (hint, it's all in the ingredients which are top notch, all directly from Italy or very local) yet not overwhelming. We ordered a pizza and a large salad to share and loved both. I accidentally ordered us a pizza with meat on it (we're vegetarians) and though it was my error they offered to replace it right away, seeming truly concerned for our experience. We insisted on keeping it as we could easily pick the meat off, but just so thoughtful! The salad was huge, splitting it between us we still felt we could have shared it with 1-2 more people as a pre-pizza appetizer. We got gelato too - all from Italy or local Prairie Fruits Farm (goat milk based) - and it was divine. When we mentioned it was our anniversary they brought us two lovely espressos on the house to enjoy our gelato with.

The pizza crust and oils were lovely. Are their things they are still working out? Yes, I think so. When it was clear we were splitting our salad the server offered to bring us another vessel to share it from . . . and brought us the base of a weird to-go container. Little things about the experience were clunky like that, but they were too minimal to remove a star from the review to our minds. If the kindness and delightful attitude of a staff truly proud of where they work is spice to your food (as it is for us) then this is a total 5, on food alone perhaps a 4, but certainly something I can't wait to try again and take...

Cool vibe here. The pizza is unquestionably good, but not filling at all. I ordered the spicy sausage variety. It was very tasty, but minimal cheese, sausage, or anything else. I understand the style and I think they are spot on. I'd be ok with that if the price reflected the portion. My family of 5, 3 teenage girls, wife, and myself ordered 3 pizzas for my daughter's andme to share, along with a salad for my wife since she won't eat pizza, 1 glass of wine and 4 tap waters. Our bill, including 20% tip, was right at $90. None of us were really full. I could easily eat 2 of these pizzas...but it would cost $32...plus 1 $8 glass of wine (to be fair, it was really tasty)for a $40 individual meal. Add tip and tax and you're looking at over $50 for 1 person. Add a salad, 20% tip, and tax with just one pizza... you're still talking $40 for 1 person. Suddenly the vibe isn't quite as impressive. For the record, as a family we don't consume large quantities of food. Normally, we leave pizza restaurants stuffed. Not here. Maybe that's a good thing? Final thought...a good quality restaurant with a cool vibe that unfortunately probably won't see me again unless prices drop...

Look no further for the ultimate gelato and authentic Italian pizza experience, as this place takes the cake! It's a true gem that not only caters to pizza enthusiasts but also offers a rare find: vegan pizza! As a vegan myself, I'm thrilled to discover a spot that goes the extra mile to provide plant-based options. The sauce and pizza crust are absolute winners, showcasing the skill and attention to detail that goes into their culinary creations. While I would personally love to see an expanded selection of vegan pizza choices, I'm genuinely grateful for the presence of at least one delicious option. In summary, this restaurant truly excels in delivering a top-notch dining experience with its delectable pizza, delightful gelato, and commendable commitment to accommodating different dietary preferences.

During a very busy Mom’s Weekend, the hospitality at Pizzeria Antica was impressive. My son and I were seated at the bar overlooking the kitchen and pizza oven, and watching everyone busy at their stations was entertaining. Service was prompt. I had the salad with artichokes, olives and the little peppers. The house-made balsamic vinaigrette was very good. My son got the pizza with prosciutto and arugula, along with some other things that escape my memory. The crust had a lovely chewy texture and the prosciutto was exceptionally good. On a hectic night, Pizzeria Antica impressed.

Stumbled across this restaurant on our first evening of a visit to Champaign. We passed lots of restaurants along the way and decided to give this one a try. We’re glad we did. The pizza is amazing! We were attended by a very friendly server who offered great suggestions about the menu and gave us a quick history of the building when one of my colleagues asked about the brick interior. We were disappointed that we weren’t able to try the gelato because we were all so stuffed after our pizza:-)
