I'm giving this place a 5 star rating because they dealt with my order, while having an order for 40, very respectfully and promptly. This rating is actually in retaliation to this grumpy older woman that was a table away and was causing a managerial problem because of her complaining. The couple she was with arrived about 5 minutes before myself and grandparents were seated, but she arrived about 15 minutes after my butt touched a seat. So obviously being a pizza place we ordered a pizza for our family and they decided to wait a little longer to order, even though we both were given the warning of a 40 person party that had scheduled their meal in advance.
So in response to hearing about this longer wait time we decided to order some cheese bread which was prioritized because it's an appetizer (which is a thought that blew over mean older woman's mind) because the pizza was in a long queue to be made even though the tables around us weren't taken up.... Yet. So time goes by and my family enjoys our bread, quickly cuz we're hungry, then after a short, yet extended short, time we get our pizza before the grumpy woman. She (older woman) then starts complaining about how we got our food first. Even though the 3 of us had ordered a single item, unlike them, and she complained other people were getting their food first which was inaccurate just based on ordering times. Elder Woman didn't understand the order of operations in a food business.
Even if they had ordered first would you not expect a 2 item order before, if not the same time, as a single item. (Cheese bread is irrelevant because it was served like 6 minutes after we ordered it)
So after this menace gets her bill and she berates the server to get her manager and calls her nothing because she can't do anything about it. Go figure 6pm on a Friday a place is busy and things may take longer. But nonetheless this mean older lady decided her bill should be cheaper and rudely kept asking for the manager, the same one that had talked to them already and explained what they had already been told, which is the same as my family was told.
This is when I left the fine establishment and mentioned to our wonderful server, Crystal, and to the manager, Angie, that those people suck and even as a customer I don't like them. I hope she leaves a bad review so it will have a poorly written, and typo, filled 1 star, evaluation because they weren't treated like gods. F...
Read moreI ordered take out at 10:05pm on a Friday night; Cheese curds and a bacon cheeseburger with fries. I arrived at 10:30pm to pick up. The hostess went to the kitchen and came back to tell me my order would be 5 more minutes. There was one hostess, one bartender, one cocktail waitress, and one restaurant waitress on duty. One take out order went out 5 minutes later, but not mine. After 10 minutes, the hostess asked me what name was on my order again, and went to check for my food. She came up with nothing, then disappeared. 5 more minutes passed, and I see her. She is wiping tables for the waitress in the dining room. Said waitress had been walking around, leaning on the expo line counter, talking to kitchen staff, while I could see my food sitting in the hot window with the ticket, for over 5 minutes. I am a former employee of this place, and several other restaurants, and I know that if there is hot food in the window with a ticket, you run it out. (Your table or not.) The waitress just walked to the dining room, and pointed to another table for the hostess to wipe down, and went back to talking in the kitchen. The hostess sees me again, at 10:51pm, and turns around to go to the kitchen. She sees my food, grabs the two boxes, and hands them to me without a bag. She asks if I want a bag. I decline, as I just want to go home to give my husband his food. The boxes were barely warm. I check the food in my car, and it is lukewarm at best. A 5 minute drive home, and my husband's Cheese curds are like rubber and are cold, and his burger had fries stuck all over it as they left it open faced in the box. The fries were cold, the burger was cold, and there were black olives (???) stuck all over it. I called to speak with a manager, and got "Ummmmmm... let me see if the manager in the bar can talk to you... is that ok??" I did notice while there, that the office door was open, but no one was inside. I saw no manager there during my 21 minutes there. The "manager in the bar", was the bartender. I am calling tomorrow to speak with the opening manager. Poor staffing decisions for a Friday evening, and having no manager there, either. I paid $21.48 for cold food, and had a totally unacceptable "ticket time" (as it's called in the industry), for a burger and cheese curds. 46 minutes until I had it; 36 minutes until it was in the window and waiting. McDonald's would have been cheaper, faster, and probably tasted better...
Read moreBar-none, Best place to go for Pizza, pasta, apps, and Italian sandwiches. The service is beyond awesome. Kat was our server last night and did an extraordinary job. Kat should be recognized and rewarded for her impeccable level of customer service. Helped with our order, extremely friendly, attention to detail, fast service, and checked back often but not in a way that was intrusive.
The food is excellent, would give 10-stars if possible. Only place in the NW metro that gets it right when it comes to making a pizza well-done [crispy thin crust without being burnt], gotta have great pie skills to do that right, and the cooks at Broadway Pizza Champlin got those skills!
All the staff, from hosts and greeters at the door to management that actually walks the floor to see how patrons are doing, are top grade. Friendly and eager to not only help but offer a great dining experience. The Champlin Broadway's delivery is also excellent and will be posting a separate review for that shortly.
Prices are very fair, and I love the personal Pizza option. You can get most any pie in a 9" serving and no more than the cost of a burger and fries anywhere else. The rest of the menu is very affordable as well. Delicious and well-made food and a very reasonable price. Plus, thier pizza ovens are seasoned to perfeState.
Best Pizza in the NW Metro, and possibly the state.
Highest recommendation from this reviewer. I encourage you to go to Broadway Pizza in Champlin. You will not regret it, and you'll glad that you did the next time you're craving some...
