I come from a Midwest suburb of Chicago. Culver's was our go-to until just recently, unfortunately 😒. I cannot believe the dip in quality of the Cod!!! The fish is small, it doesn't cover the bun at all. It's cooked in dirty oil or something. It used to be this fluffy, fresh, blonde and thick piece of fish that covered the entire bun. I received a gift certificate for a free basket because of the first fish sandwich- this made no difference whatsoever. And really, just give me a reimbursement for what I purchased and not even everything that I purchased? If anything, I should have a gift certificate for a couple of visits or something not just to replace what was bad. I had to take time out of my work day to drive over there and get it and now I just get the replacement, not good business practices.
On the replacement: The fish still came out the same way as the reason for my gift certificate! I do not have a Culver's by me in rural Arizona, I work next to this Culver's (just recently) and the quality of the food is disgusting. I say disgusting because I held Culver's at such a high standard in the Midwest. Also, tried to do pull up to pick up my food and I sat there and waited - they don't answer the phone so you have to go in anyway and wait in a 15-minute line! (Talk about lunch break being over). Then, you get excuses from the manager stating they don't have enough help, the pandemic this, blah blah blah. Meanwhile you have people at the registers just standing there holding their thumbs. If that was me and I was a manager I would have everybody working and helping each other out. You don't even get a "Hi" when you walk into this restaurant. I feel it needs an overhaul along with the food that's being slinged out of that kitchen. Also, when you pull up and say you have a coupon for a free meal because your other meal was not up to par, you figure they would do everything in their power to give you a great meal. Oh no, this did not happen.. I got the same fish sandwich I got the coupon for. Tsk tsk..
What is going on! Why are the Culvers in the Midwest so much better! This is the worst Culver's I've ever eaten at, this and the Queen Creek one. There are a lot of transplants here, you cannot fool us...
Read moreI wanted to check out Culver's so when I was in the neighborhood I came in.
It's a fast joint. The first thing that came to mind when comparing is McDonalds and the likes. The inside is clean, it was not overly crowded but there were some foot traffic.
Their main set of menu focused a lot on burgers, I didn't feel like having one so I went with the North Atlantic Cod Sandwich combo instead. It came with crinkle cut fries, a drink and of course the cod sandwich.
The crinkle cut fries reminded me of school, something I always got from the cafeteria. A nostalgic feeling but as to the fries itself, well, it's just alright.
The Atlantic cod sandwich was decent, it's got a nice size and the crunch signaling that it is freshly friend. Compare it to your filet o fish, this is definitely at a higher quality on the fish itself and it is very apparent. The way they arrange the sandwich is kind of interesting because I was expecting it to be similar to filet o fish and it definitely did not taste like it. It had very little sauce, some cheese and lettuce. The taste is fine, but I believe through putting more tartar sauce into it, it definitely blows their competition out of the water.
Soda? Well, you get it, just soda.
They had a TV playing up the origin of Culver's from Wisconsin. I watched it and it was interesting. They also sell ice cream and it is heavily advertised but I didn't see anyone get it.
I wish them well and through refining their food continuously that they eventually become a competitor to the fast food options we get. Next time I'm in, maybe I'll try their burger? I guess it just depends. I dunno if I would go out of my way just for...
Read moreI’ve recently moved to the area and have been to this location about 4 times in the past few months. I mostly enjoy the food here but each visit the service I get is worse and worse. I have hip problems so I typically place my order online for curbside pickup. Well, ‘Curdside’ doesn’t mean anything. Literally at all. Every single time I have gotten to the store 5 mins after ordering and checked in. Then proceeded to wait for my order to be brought to my car, as curbside is typically handled at other establishments. I keep waiting and when it gets to the 15 minute marker I get frustrated and join the drive thru ‘line’. Since it was 9:30 when I arrived tonight there weren’t even any cars or line for drive thru to justify the lack of curdbside service. I finally receive my food and get home ready to eat and find that my chili is lukewarm and my milkshake is now just overpriced chocolate milk. To make matters worse, there are pieces of what looks like lint or dust in the top of my milkshake, probably from sitting out without a lid. Considering this is the fourth time my food has been unenjoyable and/or thrown out, I won’t be wasting anymore time or money here. I should have learned my lesson the first time instead of giving second chances. All that to say if you do decide to visit this location, the food is hit or miss and I don’t recommend wasting your time with...
