We ordered take-out from Hong Kong Bistro last night, as we have done many times before. The food was always good. Until tonight. Fast forward to this morning when I went in to collect the egg rolls, they forgot to give me last night. I spoke with the woman at the front and very nicely started to tell her about our experience with their food from last night. At that time, she said she would get the âownerâ and I could speak with her. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Finally, my egg rolls come out and the woman at the front hands them to me and tells me to âhave a nice dayâ. I asked her about the owner coming out to speak with me and she said âno, she doesnât want to speak with youâ. This is why I am writing this review. 100%! I am always up for giving someone a chance to fix things, but this was just a blatant âF-Uâ! Please keep in mind that I was very nice when I started telling the woman at the front about it. I was not loud, as there was another customer in the restaurant. But boy was I loud when I left and the customer (still waiting on his pick-up order) most definitely heard me! First off, we spent over $70 on the food. Second, they forgot our egg rollsâŠno biggie. I called and they said I could go in today and get them. So, thatâs what I did. Now, back to the amount we spent on our foodâŠ.$70! $70 for sweet & sour chicken that was so tough and nasty we could not even eat it not to mention they put it in sauce. Since when do you order take out and they put it in the sauce? Never! Sauce is almost always on the side (which they also gave us, but it is so watered down itâs hard to even tell itâs sweet & sour sauce!) Letâs move on to the shrimp egg foo young, that had absolutely ZERO shrimp âinâ it. The shrimp was just piled on top. Great, you gave us shrimp, but it should be âinâ the egg foo young, not piled on top, which, we could have gotten past if the sweet & sour chicken wasnât so bad. Plus, the egg foo young sauce was absolutely disgusting. It was so salty yet, so sweet. It was gross. Just gross. Not the normal sauce (or gravy) one would expect. We could barely choke down the first bite. The âegg fried riceâ was decent and edible. The crab Rangoon bites were blah, but we ate a few. The wont tons were ok. All in all, this restaurant is not one we will order form any longer. Especially since I tried to nicely tell them our experience and the owner flat out refused to come out and talk to me. I wasnât asking for new food. I wasnât asking for a refund. I just wanted to let them know something was off. But thatâs ok. We will not support establishments that donât care enough about their customers to come out of hiding in the back to talk to them and hope you donât have the same experience if you go here. All of our food went...
Read moreIf I had the option to choose zero stars I would. I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant for several reasons. Not only was the quality of the food subpar, with our food being overcooked, but we also encountered an alarming situation regarding the integrity of the staff.
During our visit, my fiancé and I placed an order close to closing time. While my fiancé, being the only customer inside, patiently waited for our food inside, he inadvertently left behind his wallet. After realizing this, he immediately called the restaurant multiple times in hopes of retrieving his belongings. However, upon finally reaching someone on the line, their response was highly unprofessional and concerning. The individual denied having any knowledge of the missing wallet with a disconcerting tone, even laughing before abruptly ending the call.
The following day, my fiancĂ© returned to Hong Kong Bistro and approached the owner to share what had occurred. Shockingly, the owner acknowledged that their employee was known for such misconduct, admitting that the wallet, along with other items, had likely been stolen. Furthermore, the owner disclosed that the same employee attempted to shift the blame to the ownerâs children, which raises questions about the integrity of the hiring process.
Regrettably, my fiancé suffered a significant financial loss of $1700 in cash. It is crucial to note that this money had been withdrawn from our bank account just a few hours before, as it was intended for rent payment. Understandably, this loss has caused us great distress. When my fiancé reached out to the owner for assistance and potential reimbursement, their response was dismissive, claiming there was nothing they could do.
I am deeply concerned that this establishment continues to employ individuals with a known history of theft. This not only jeopardizes the safety and belongings of customers but also tarnishes the reputation of the business. Think twice before eating at...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences! We went in for lunch on a Sat. with another couple at noon. We have been there many times but no more!! One girl working who was rude & literally threw out placemats, silverware & menus at us! She acted like we were interrupting her with only two other tables there. Ordered our food. The food is good, but we asked for our spring rolls & crab puffs & she brought our friends steamed rice instead of fried rice. She said u only get those with lunch. We said we ordered off the lunch menu & it was lunch time! She starts getting mad at us & saying we were wrong! She told us she was the owner which we knew she wasnât! We told her we would not be returning & she said âI donât care if u ever come back & I just plain donât care!â We told her if it was her business she would care! She would not even come back to our table after that!! Customer service was so poor not worth going back ever with so many better places that do care about...
