This evening we made our way back to LaFondas after a poor experience with the male bar tender. Such a negative experience we sought out a manager to tell her on our way out. (We NEVER do that.)

We figured, why not try again? Well. Here's why.

We approach the bar, he says nothing. Not hello, nothing. Mind you..he sees and hears us chit chatting as we sit. When he finally turns around to grab our drinks we tell him we're ready to put an order in. But, alas, no menus to determine what exactly we want. For some reason he had a salty attitude toward my boyfriend and ignores the request to order.

He moves on to talk with, and serve, other customers. Makes sense! He returns..."ok, what's up?" Well...that's stunning. We go on to tell him we'd like order but need a menu. "I'm on my time, NOT YOURS." Interesting approach this man has to customer service. "I can refuse service to anyone."

At this point we now understand. He is there to do what he wants, for who he wants, WHEN he wants. If that is how this family restaurant prefers it, by all means we will go other avenues.

If you're looking for authentic, friendly customer service: Los Dos Molinos it's soooo good, they will appreciate your business and respect you as a patron. Seems about right,...

My wife and I ordered two of the chimichanga plates on the lunch menu and when the waiter brought the food to us he brought a chimichanga with no toppings no sides and when we cut into the chimichanga there is a very thin layer of meat in this huge amount of flour tortilla when I confronted the waiter and told him that he forgot to give us our rice and beans and we asked him where the topping was for the chimichanga he said that we need to order that separately we had asked for the rice and beans which is ordered separately for another $2 but in the menu the chimichanga stated that it would come with guacamole sour cream and salsa and melted cheese , I told him about the meat inside the chimichanga he said he would get the manager the manager never came over to us instead instructed the waiter to give us 25% off of our bill so we paid $14 for two large pieces of tortilla I will never go back to La Fonda again and I recommend that you don't go...

Four of us went to dinner on Saturday night, pre concert. We were concerned about the timing of our dinner because the concert was in Scottsdale and we needed to be at the venue a few minutes early. We had all eaten at La Fonda previously and enjoyed the food and the restaurant environment. It was a choice between dining at La Fonda and Macayo in Mesa. I am glad we chose La Fonda. Roger our waiter was responsive to our needs and our being on a schedule to make the concert. He was prompt in refilling drinks and chips and making certain all was well with our food. I had the Enchilada platter with three enchiladas which was very good. Others had the Chili Relleno and a Pablano dish which they also enjoyed. I will be returning to La Fonda because of the consistency of the food and service. I also recommend this restaurant to family and friends without...

Staff was amazing and nice, she checked on me often and had a very good attitude. Food on the other hand was horrible. Chips were stale as ever. Fundito was gritty/grainy but the flavor was good. Flower tortillas were so thin you could see through them and they were microwaved. The beans tasted sour, the rice was the same rice you get from Walmart. The pico on the plate tasted like the tomatoes were old or rotten. The carne asada had good flavor. The whole plate was microwaved as it took 3 minutes if that to get to my table after I ordered. But the grilled jalapeño and Dr Pepper were good. The worst Tex-Mex in Texas would out this place to shame. To top it all off IF you get through a bowl of stale chips, the following bowl cost an extra $1.50

Lunch was yummy! I have no complaints. Went here for lunch yesterday and got a lot food for 2ppl. My delicious veggie fajitas didn't break the bank eaither .Food was well seasoned also came out hot🙂. The complimentary fresh chips&Salsa are tasty. The Server was friendly, attentive and kept my tea full. There was no waiting to be seated. Very clean top to bottom. The music wasn't to loud, the songs over head had been a mix of soft rock, christan rock and oldies. All in all it was a calm setting. I have no idea what the dinner service or atmosphere is like but will be back in the near future to find out! Definitely recommend for lunch if you are looking for a Chill Mexican eatery.

The service was great, Food was delicious, margaritas were huge and tasty. We shared a green chili quesadilla and chips and salsa…… and took a green chili burrito and chicken chimichanga home for later….. Margarita was great, 1 really hit the spot. A nice experience overall. Some reviewers said their opinion is the menu is overpriced…..I think it was reasonable for us……we had two huge drinks, one appetizer, and two full meals/entrees and it was 70 for us (would have been 50 without beverages). Plus the rising costs of everything under the sun 🙄 anyway, couldn’t complain
