This evening we made our way back to LaFondas after a poor experience with the male bar tender. Such a negative experience we sought out a manager to tell her on our way out. (We NEVER do that.)
We figured, why not try again? Well. Here's why.
We approach the bar, he says nothing. Not hello, nothing. Mind you..he sees and hears us chit chatting as we sit. When he finally turns around to grab our drinks we tell him we're ready to put an order in. But, alas, no menus to determine what exactly we want. For some reason he had a salty attitude toward my boyfriend and ignores the request to order.
He moves on to talk with, and serve, other customers. Makes sense! He returns..."ok, what's up?" Well...that's stunning. We go on to tell him we'd like order but need a menu. "I'm on my time, NOT YOURS." Interesting approach this man has to customer service. "I can refuse service to anyone."
At this point we now understand. He is there to do what he wants, for who he wants, WHEN he wants. If that is how this family restaurant prefers it, by all means we will go other avenues.
If you're looking for authentic, friendly customer service: Los Dos Molinos it's soooo good, they will appreciate your business and respect you as a patron. Seems about right,...
Read moreMy wife and I ordered two of the chimichanga plates on the lunch menu and when the waiter brought the food to us he brought a chimichanga with no toppings no sides and when we cut into the chimichanga there is a very thin layer of meat in this huge amount of flour tortilla when I confronted the waiter and told him that he forgot to give us our rice and beans and we asked him where the topping was for the chimichanga he said that we need to order that separately we had asked for the rice and beans which is ordered separately for another $2 but in the menu the chimichanga stated that it would come with guacamole sour cream and salsa and melted cheese , I told him about the meat inside the chimichanga he said he would get the manager the manager never came over to us instead instructed the waiter to give us 25% off of our bill so we paid $14 for two large pieces of tortilla I will never go back to La Fonda again and I recommend that you don't go...
Read moreFour of us went to dinner on Saturday night, pre concert. We were concerned about the timing of our dinner because the concert was in Scottsdale and we needed to be at the venue a few minutes early. We had all eaten at La Fonda previously and enjoyed the food and the restaurant environment. It was a choice between dining at La Fonda and Macayo in Mesa. I am glad we chose La Fonda. Roger our waiter was responsive to our needs and our being on a schedule to make the concert. He was prompt in refilling drinks and chips and making certain all was well with our food. I had the Enchilada platter with three enchiladas which was very good. Others had the Chili Relleno and a Pablano dish which they also enjoyed. I will be returning to La Fonda because of the consistency of the food and service. I also recommend this restaurant to family and friends without...
