Service was really bad, it took about 25 mins to get a refill of iced tea because our server rarely checked on us. The food was mid at best, but you cannot expect much from a bar. But the biggest concern was safety. My sisters and I ordered drinks from the bar. Then this guy comes up to us and starts saying "that's my drink and that's my seat". And he was not even standing next to the bar, this part was empty, hence why we ordered from this side of the bar. We were at the bar for maybe 2 mins max, never sitting or bothering his drink. So I confront him saying that he does not own the bar and we were just ordering our drinks because IT IS A BAR. Keep in mind that even though he was concerned about his drink and seat, he did not proceed to touch either, other than get into my face and start raising his voice. Eventually he says "walk away" while stepping closer to me, I am a woman that is shorter than him, but he felt the need to scream at me. I felt like tensions were rising so I get the attention of a bartender nearby because this guy got closer, into my face. The bartender says "let's go to the front to the security". We walk and I try to explain what happened and how I do not feel safe with a grown man yelling in my face. I talk to the 'head of security' and a couple of other 'security guards'. I break down in tears because I was shaken up after having a grown man yelling in my face. The head of security touches my shoulder talking about "are you okay?" But then proceeds to tell me "just stay away from him" and "stay on this side of the bar". I am beyond disappointed in the "security" because did he need to physically touch me to be removed from the bar instead of his aggressive behavior being enough of a reason? Do not go to this bar if you want to feel...
Read more2nd time here and I was underwhelmed again. Service was fine and food tasted great, however, we had a problem with our pepperoni pizza. The pepperoni had been sliced with the plastic still on and each slice was still encircled in plastic. It was impossible to chew and most of the slices that were cut by the pizza cutter were still connected by the plastic, so if you pulled or bit one of the pieces of the slice, all the connected pieces would slide off the slice of pizza with it. We tried removing the plastic, but some of it was melted onto the pizza and there was so much pepperoni on it that we decided it was ridiculous to try after each doing a piece or two of pizza.
The waitress told us it was cheese...lol. The mgr told us it was not plastic and instead was the normal membrane casing found on all sausage. He said when it's cooked it gets tough to chew but was definitely not plastic. The strings & rings of clear, shiny plastic on our plates said otherwise.
The mgr gracefully removed the pizza from our bill, but what I really wanted was a pepperoni pizza w/o plastic. We've had it before and it was absolutely delicious, so I was extremely disappointed leaving after only eating a half slice of pizza.
The ambiance is nice but prices are well on the high side for most of the drinks. $6 for a can of beer... $10.50 for a tiny "mason jar" drink. $16 for a lb of wings. There are a couple apps and entrees that aren't terribly priced, but you could easily spend a small fortune here.
I really wanted to like The Stillery, but I'm not in a...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. My group had an absolutely appalling experience at The Stillery in Chandler. From the moment we arrived, we were harassed, stereotyped, and treated with blatant disrespect. The so-called “management” had the audacity to blame our group for a DUI incident that happened LAST YEAR because of THEIR OWN over pouring, which we were told about from one of their OWN employees who has decent and respect in conversation — an event we had nothing to do with!! On top of that, they claimed we weren’t allowed to have any drinks upon entering, insulted the women in our group by calling them “sloppy and drunk,” and said they couldn’t stand and don’t know how to dance during the line dancing— completely unfounded and baseless accusations. It was a disgusting display of prejudice and power-tripping.
The only saving grace of the night was our server, Gordon. He was professional, kind, and stood up for us when his manager overstepped and took it upon himself to flex his so-called authority. Gordon deserves a promotion ASAP — he’s clearly the only one who understands what hospitality means. As a fellow business owner Gordon is the type of person I would like to run my establishment.
As a fellow manager in the service industry, it’s disheartening to witness such horrendous treatment. The Stillerys management should be ashamed of themselves. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to be unfairly judged and...
