After reading various mixed reviews about Hunan Cafe, I felt compelled to share my consistently positive experiences at this Fairfax establishment. While some diners have expressed concerns about service attitudes, I have never encountered anything but professional and courteous treatment from the staff during my multiple visits.

WILL NEVER GO BACK. Seems to have new ownership and there is a noticeable decline in food quality and service. OTHER LOCAL SPOTS HAVE FRESHER INGREDIENTS AND MUCH BETTER STAFF.

The latest delivery, I requested "please place food at front door. Do not knock. Do not call." When the driver arrived, he stood out front with the food for several minutes pounding on front door like he was police. Then called.

I called the restaurant because I was extremely uncomfortable. Staff said there was nothing they could do. I asked if he would be open to make it right; in four years, we've never complained or asked for a refund. He said he could issue refund but he would need the food brought to the store. The food was awful. I ordered general tso chicken which is supposed to be spicy and it was not it was sweet and disgusting. I asked to substitute the steamed rice for fried rice and was told it would be an additional $4 charge which is ridiculously high compared to many other places I've eaten from. I also ordered a side of chicken wings and it was chicken wingettes not chicken wings. The "wings" were also disgusting and unseasoned not even hot sauce helped it. I will not be eating from here again and I suggest you take your money somewhere better with quality food. And if I could give them zero...
