I had high hopes for this place. Perhaps too high? First of all, the food looked nothing like the pictures on the menu. Ordered seafood pancake, which was delicious. I would definitely go back for this. However, the stews, which should've been their specialty, failed miserably. Ordered seafood tofu and budae soup. I wouldn't call them true Korean dishes. They were more of a fusion style. Definitely included ingredients that were not part of traditional Korean dish - I would say Chinese and Thai ingredients - with random corn on cob in each soup. Not the flavors I was expecting/wanting. The service was great. Very friendly and attentive. Great concept and a fresh take on a Korean restaurant. Read more@jjigae_us New Korean soup & comfort food restaurant in VA! ✨️ Bulgogi hotpot: SO good! On the sweeter side, tasted exactly like traditional bulgogi whilst warming up your tummy. 🏆 Bulgogi hansang: A traditional tray of bulgogi, miso soup, rice & banchan. Personally, it's my favourite. ✨️ Sweet & sour chicken: Very good, great addition to the meal. Slightly crispy with a little tang. ✨️ Tteokbokki ramen (?): The owners are SO sweet, got to meet them and they brought this ramen dish out that isn't yet on the menu but it taste like tteokbokki with spam, rice cake, mushrooms..etc and the noodles were 🔥. Overall a great casual Korean restaurant addition for The DMV. I especially love the personal hotpot & all the delicious varieties they offer. IG @ SpicyAivy Tiktok...

The food didn't quite match the tantalizing pictures advertised, which is not uncommon, but still disappointing. I opted for the seafood tofu jjigae, and while the taste was satisfactory, the portion left much to be desired. It felt like a sparse collection of ingredients - one lonely bok choy, a handful of mushrooms, a few mussels, one shrimp, and minuscule squid pieces accompanied by scant noodles and two rice cakes. Overall, the dish was decent, but the underwhelming presentation and portion size left me feeling unenthusiastic about a...
