My family and I have been fans of Brixx Pizza since we first ate at one many years ago in Charlotte. Towards the end of my son's recent swim meet at UNC I ordered online for pick up on our way home. When I arrived one of the employees showed me a pizza and asked if it was too well done as it had blackened crust. I told him yes simply because it was for my 10 year old and you know how kids can be. He said he thought that was the case and completely understood. He said they already had a replacement in the oven and it'd be only a few more minutes. While I waited he offered me a beer for the inconvenience. While I enjoyed the beer my order was finished and I was on my way. When I got home I found that they'd included the well done pizza as well as the replacement. Beats it going to waste as I'm not a picky eater. This is exactly the type of customer service you want your employees to provide. The guy working there didn't have to do any of what he did and could have just as easily sent me on my way with a well done pizza that likely would have ruined my son's day after an outstanding performance in his swim meet. Especially considering it was a busy Saturday night and people were literally lined up out the door waiting for a table. It would have also made me rethink going back to this restaurant. Instead I'll be a dedicated customer and will recommend this place to others as...
Read morePretty good pizza at this Brixx; I got the BBQ chicken pie and they didn't charge me when I asked for some extra cheese and sauce. Beers were tasty and served in ice-cold glasses. One thing I couldn't help but notice at this Brixx was the behavior of a man there who I later learned was the owner of the establishment. He had a despondent, not-quite-there look in his eye and he continuously yelled odd things at no one in particular. Occasionally he would ask patrons if they were enjoying their meals, when they answered that they were, he would slap himself hard in the face and walk away. He was also prone to nervously whipping his head around, looking behind with a crazed expression, as though some invisible threat was pursuing him. This frightened not a few children at the establishment. At one point I watched the owner carry on a fifteen minute conversation with a signed poster of Dean Smith's 1982 Tar Heel's Basketball Team; he ended the chat with tears in his eyes. The rest of the patrons more or less ignored him - I guess they're regulars who are used to his schizophrenia, but I was taken aback by the notion that a man with such a profoundly disordered mind could own and operate a...
Read moreWe have become regulars at this particular Brixx in Meadowmont because of their consistently high quality food, drink & service. The staff is always very friendly and work hard as they are typically quite busy at lunchtime. And, the greeter always has a happy attitude and friendly disposition. It is also wonderful to see how involved the management is in the success of the dining room and kitchen. There seems to always be two managers on duty when we dine there and they are hustling just as much as the waitstaff. And, we like the fact that once your order is placed, a team of staff pitch in to get the food to your table as soon as it is ready - it’s not sitting under some hot light in the back. We have tried a variety of their wood-fired pizzas which are delicious. Their Brixx Sticks are soft and amazing (made from pizza dough). The pasta dishes are excellent and customizable, and our favorite salad is the Caesar salad. Always fresh, crisp Romaine lettuce (no brown edges). Love their Ranch dressing, too! We always look forward to dining here and...
