Called to get delivery for wings and 2 pizzas 11:30pm. After checking website store hours. Guy answers and asks if I can hold. Comes back from having me on hold and start to gice him my order. He says i have to warn you, i can take your order but delivery is going to be between 1hr 45min -2hrs, but if im willing to wait we can still deliver.. Mmm i said, come on man im right across the street at planet is it still going to take that long? Then he says Im sorry its really busy. We have 47 orders ahead of you. Guy went on saying how busy they are and kept on talking while I was trying to exit the phone call. Thinking to myself in 25yrs of ordering pizza I have never had a delivery take longer then an hr and 15 mins and that was during unc final four years back.... In chapel hill and the pizza was free. I know... I thought, Let me call the other store 4 miles up the rd. They tell me they can check but if ita other stores territory then they cant steal business. Makes since. So i ask is it a busy night and something going in I dont know about. They didnt think so but take orders up to 12. Got off the phone and sat decided If i order online. an automated delivery time will ahow up for eta. So i got my order placed. Big surprise. Message says "Your pizza will be delivered 25 mins" Pause. The story let me remind you Dude said 47 orders to be made ahead of me and 2 hrs for deliver yet site says 25 mins. So im sitting here thinking at planet fitness thinking i beat him but wait what if they remember me calling before since i told him only across street at planet fitness and connect that they the online order to... Gah thoughts flood and only invision stereotypical under paid worker getting the last laugh and wipe butt with dough or spit in it or sauce... Use your imagination. Great now im hungry as heck and skipped dinner to finish working and was looking forward to tearing some hot wings and ranch and figured ill order an extra pizza for left overs to bring for lunch 2morrow. Ugg. Realizing i need this guys name who lied and and surley cant trust to make my pizza. So i blocked my number and did a sweet southern hill billy bob toothless accent trying to order a pizza. Then led him to give his name after he told me they another lie. And said they are closed. But says online you close at 12. Ya but we dont take orders 10 mins before 12 but can call to carrboro because they are open till 3am. So aaking for a manager he tells me, "i am the manager." Well manager whats you name, i aksed. He replies his name is Jay. Jay? I asked. That is correct. I said, "well, Jay i appreciate you exceptional service and all your time you have given... Jay. Good bye Jay. Calling Other store and speaking same person to cross reference of if Jay is real name. Dominoes rep says Jay? Oh i know exactly who that is. Its not Jay. It is Jared. Wow it gets better and better... But wait. told him okay you can either get a large tip or no tip i just wanna know straight up is my food safe to eat? He says i washed my hands and J made it so... (delivery boys dont cook would be correct response #1 lie) ok so tell me... Who answered the phone earlier. He says idk his name as he giggled and smerked. You dont lnow your managers name. My manager wasnt there tonight he is james. (James, jay, jared. Mmmm) two planet fitness workers chimed in too saying. You dont know ur coworkers name. Wow i said look man this isn't going well. Whats your name? Im ari and you the guy with the hate that... I stopped him and said you can stop yhere now ia not the time to try and be funny. He replies thats okay I never get tips late night. I said look ari you wont tell me your co workers name how can i trust you to handle my food? Did anyone mess with my food? As Ari, walked away he said qe didnt spit in it but if you think we did then maybe we did. OMG!!! Order was undercooked. Way under cheese and meat on top of playdough. Going ro poat youtube link for veiwing of this trash over the next day or so. Dont order till jay john jared james oe whatever is gone and watch...
Read moreI had been going to the Domino's on Bypass Lane until it closed during the the Elliott Road extension construction. Ever since it reopened on S. Elliott Road the service and food has been noticeably worse.
It seems like they're always understaffed, so even though the app gives an estimated time, your order is always much later. The quality of the food has gone down, and items are often missing.
The last straw for me was when we ordered on 12/23/24. The app ETA was 4:55-5:05 pm but it kept showing "in prep". We arrived at 5pm, and there was one person working. He was friendly but clearly overworked and doing his best to keep up. He said someone else was supposed to be there but he hadn't showed. And my wasn't ready (and the app still showed that it was being prepped).
I waited about 20 minutes and 3 other parties came in with the same problem (ordered online, order wasn't ready or hadn't been brought out yet). Finally the app showed our order was done, but no one never came out or called anyone's name. He kept making pies, all while the phone rang non-stop,
After a while, another employee showed up but didn't ask any of us who were waiting for our names or to help. Then she disappeared. A third employee showed up but again, he didn't come to the counter or asked for anyone's name. There were 3 parties waiting at the counter. Finally the first employee came out, asked my name, and took 3 pizzas that had been sitting on a shelf and handed them to me. How long had my order even been sitting there? I don't even know. Whatever the case, they were cold. And really really sloppy (no dough, all sauce, uneven, undercooked). And it wasn't until I drove home that I realized the dipping sauce we paid for ($1 each!) was missing.
Look, I enjoy the taste of Domino's Pizza, but this location in Chapel Hill no longer meets the quality Domino's has always provided. I felt terrible for the gentleman working that night by himself. I could tell he was trying his best. I feel like this location must be under different management or something because ever since it moved down the street, our orders are always delayed, missing an item and/or sloppy.
I think I'll stick to the local Alfredo's Pizza Village at University Place from now on, unless...
Read moreThis is my first review for a reason, I have ordered from this new location around ten times, and not a single time has it arrived within an hour of the estimated delivery time. Most of the time it is around 2 hours before the food arrives.
I don't blame the employees, as every time I have gone in person, the workers are clearly very busy, visibly understaffed, and unable to meet the volume of orders coming in. At first I assumed that this was the struggles of a new location, but this same problem has gone on for months now, regardless of who is working or time of day.
Each time I have gotten an email with a link for a free medium pizza or a discount, but this does nothing to help if the process of receiving the food is miserable.
Ownership/Management simply needs to do better. Pay your employees a real wage, and give them what is necessary to do their jobs, or start letting your customers know that it will take around 2 hours to...
