Baskin-Robbins — Restaurant in Charleston

ACTS OF KINDNESS! LOVE THIS PLACE!!

I've been coming here since I was a kid. The owners are very nice and most of all it's the staff and the product that keep me returning. So it's my husband and I tonight. Same ritual. M&M MART Sandwiches and Baskin Robins for dessert. Decided to get my husband's co workers a sandwich too.

When I get here I see one of the owners that I know and he is with another manager and a gentleman in casual nice business attire. We say hello and the man I knew says this is one of our, and I couldn't here but I think what may be an operating partner for Baskin and Robins.

He says what do you like about the place after I said how much I love it. I said to him I am from Danville (45 min drive) and this is my go to dessert stop! I said one of the staff was so kind to volunteer to ice my items because they knew I live that far away!

I haven't been to a Baskin-Robbins in nearly 15 years but had great memories. This location did a great job of standing up to them. Although the experience was different due to COVID (the store is drive-thru only) the staff was very friendly and helpful. The list of ice cream flavors was posted on the window for convenience and the young woman working was kind enough to show my son the different cones as well as a rundown of each available topping. I had anticipated our order ( 2 waffle cones with 2 scoops of ice cream and toppings) to cost $20.00 or close to it, but the bill was half that amount. That was a nice change from the $20 plus I'm used to paying at the froyo place we opt for when we want something sweet. I was also pleased with the measures taken to keep employees and customers protected. The employees were gloved and masked, even those who weren't directly helping with orders. I was able to glimpse inside and the store looked immaculately cleaned! The only downside was the lack of toppings. My son had hoped to have a few different opinions but there were only 3 types of candy to choose from, 2 types of fruit, and 3 "sauces" to pick from. This may have been the case because it's winter and only the drive-thru is open but it would have been nice to have more options. Either way, another trip to this location will be...

I love this location. I don't know what their hiring process is but they consistently have the kindest, most customer service oriented people working. Today Amber spent several minutes with me on the phone, going well above and beyond her call of duty, to help me place an order for the cake I needed for my daughter's birthday. I wasn't too keen on the Frozen 2 design offered online (too plain) and told her as much, but I had to have a Frozen 2 cake because for whatever reason my daughter is obsessed. I specifically chose Baskin Robbins and this location because they have done such a fantastic job with her cakes before. Amber went through several design options with me, even going so far as to text me pictures of some of their photo designs and offering to go through the ice cream flavor list with me. She was AMAZING and helped me breathe a deep sigh of relief knowing that at least this one aspect of the party is going to be top notch. (Have you had their ice cream cakes??? So good.)
