On Saturday, July 20, my guest and I arrived at Heavy's Barburger (1137 Morrison Drive) at 3 PM. The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere, and we were looking forward to our meal. For appetizers, we ordered the 10 jumbo wings and a basket of onion rings. Both of us opted for the Barburger as our main course, with my guest choosing sweet potato fries as her side. We both had Cokes to drink.
The food was fresh and tasted good. The bar burgers were very satisfying, and we both enjoyed them immensely. The onion rings were tasty, though I felt the portion could have been a bit larger. The sweet potato fries were small in size, and the quantity was disappointing. The so-called "jumbo" wings were no larger than what I get at other restaurants, leaving me puzzled as to why they were labeled as such.
Service was another area where I had mixed feelings. Our waitress, took a while to get to our table initially. While she was polite, she seldom checked on us after taking our order. She walked past our table at least eight times without stopping. Fortunately, another waitress noticed our empty glasses and offered to refill our drinks, which was much appreciated.
Now, let's talk about the drink prices. The Cokes were $2.99 each and came with free refills. However, getting those refills was a challenge, given the inattentiveness of our primary waitress. Additionally, I noticed, they charge $2.99 for a single can of Dr. Pepper (obviously no refill), and their RC Cola products were priced at $3.49 per can. This level of pricing for drinks is excessive, especially considering that these beverages cost the restaurant about 50 cents each (if not less).
As someone who eats out at least once or twice a week, I try to support local restaurants and tip generously. However, I am taken aback when I see restaurants charging exorbitant prices for drinks. This practice leaves a sour taste, even if the meal itself is good.
In conclusion, while the food at Heavy's Barburger was enjoyable, but the high drink prices and service issues marred the overall experience. I hope they reconsider their pricing strategy and improve their service standards. I may return in the future, but it will be a while before I do, and I will explore other dining options in the meantime.
I know that service level jobs and difficult, so I normally tip no less than $20. Sorry to say, I tipped this...

When I arrived I went inside looking for a host to seat us but could not find anyone. I managed to flag down a server who confirmed outside tables are first come first serve. All of the tables were either full of people or leftovers from the previous party, it took another 5 min to flag someone down to clean our table. After that we waited about 5 minutes and then someone from our party had to go try to find out if we would get table service or if we needed to order inside. We finally got a server who was nice but clearly overwhelmed as she stated they were swamped and was not very cordial or pleasant. I would have to say the most bizarre part of our experience was with the music outside.
The music was blaring so we asked our waitress if she could turn it down, she told us she would ask the bartender...who I guess is in charge of the music but mentioned the bartender is "in a mood today" and most likely would not. When I said it was so loud that we may leave if they don't turn it down the waitress said she understood and agreed it was way too loud. The bartender then decided to play games and turn it lower then blast it, then lower, blast, for the duration of our meal.
When our appetizer arrived we asked for silverware and were told "we usually bring that with the main entree"...cool, so no silverware for appetizers...
When our entrees arrived we received one knife and one fork for FOUR people and FOUR entrees.
This place should have silverware on the table and QR codes to order.
TLDR: burger is good, vibe is off, bartender seems to have attitude problems that they take out on paying customers through their poor choice of music and affinity...
Read moreRated for top burgers in the area, so definitely wanted to try it. Place was crowded with guests waiting inside and outside the restaurant for a table. “Put our name in the list” although there was no physical list and was told it would be about 20 minutes. Grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered a drink. Seems I was in the minority. Guests to the left and right of me ordered food and got it before I ever got a drink. Bartender was busy but friendly. Drinks were only so so. Got a shorty margarita and a Bee Sting. Suggest sticking to beer/wine if wanting an adult beverage. Was eventually seated at a table for 8 and was squeezed on the end and the staff put menus, condiments, and paper towels between us and the other party they sat next to us. The condiment barrier wall was a bit much. The party next who was seated after us ordered drinks and appetizers and got them and still didnt have a server. The bartender walked by and I asked him about a server. He said she was busy but would be right by. No one came. The party next to us placed their food order. Still no server came by to get our order. Bartender came back, gave us water, took our order. Food eventually came. I had the Patty Melt and my husband got them Barburger. Both were tasty. As were the onion rings (not the prepackaged frozen kind) and the sweet potato fries. The Patty Melt was suppose to be served on Texas Toast but it was more like regular bread and it seemed small. Full of flavor though and fresh. Both burgers came with Heavy’s sauce. Couldn’t discern a particular flavor but overall great taste. The only time waitstaff came by was to give us the check and get paid. Burgers good. Cocktails so so. Waitstaff needs...
