I wanted to get some soup one day and my Caucasian boyfriend that is here from James Island told me about this place, I am a African-American and Cuban woman and being in South Carolina knowing that the older generation may slightly still be racist, coming into the establishment I did not feel welcome, the cashier did not greet me and I was very pleasant when I asked for my order, I stated that this is my first time, the cashier did not want to help me with anything and he was very rushed, it seems like they may be short staffed and that may be the reason why the first time I showed up the cashier had an attitude, he was a male with glasses. I don't have a gallbladder so I'm limited to food that I have to eat, so when I discovered this restaurant I was pleased when I first got the chicken noodle soup it was pretty tasty the first time, but again the customer service was bad, my boyfriend was on James Island the next day and asked if I wanted to go by and get some soup since that is the only thing I really can eat, i agreed and once again I walked in and there was an older white lady as the cashier this time, I was barely greeted she wasn't rude as the first white male cashier was, that didn't greet me and huffed and puffed when I told him I was new, the soup was a different style this time and I didn't like it, it had a lemon flavor but I just ate it anyways because it was a gift from my boyfriend. Today my boyfriend asked me did I want some soup because he was on James Island and he told me to call for a pickup, I called for a pickup and this would be my fourth time getting the soup in one week ,and I was placed on hold for over 10 minutes the cashier did not even acknowledge that I was on the phone, even if she forgot or not, I slightly feel discriminated upon because she was not remembering I was on the phone, honestly to be blunt I feel that this restaurant is racist against African Americans. I'm not pulling the race card I can tell how this cashier was talking to all the other customers and she did not make me feel welcome like she made the white people feel welcome. I won't be coming back because of subpar food and bad...
Read moreDo yourself a favor and hit the Teeter! We order online, and head to the window. We are greeted with the flattest tone of what feels like someone who just absolutely does not want to be there. Matter of fact, she may have just given a head nod, like yea, whatchu want.. After waiting about 7-10 minutes, and letting another vehicle go through. I finally went in to check on our food. Used the pick up window because we are on lunch, and kind of in a hurry... To my dismay, there they are, just sittin there on the counter. I point to the bag, the same lady asks if it's mine.. I said, I hope so. She mentioned, yea, that guy will not move, never does.!. At this point, I am just happy we got our grub and heading home. I get in my office, sit down with all my fixins.. Open the little box, and... Mini sandwiches is what I have. 2 ity bity, cut in half sandwiches. All this for $24. Ugggghhhh. Get back in the car. Head back to a Ladles. I pull up to the window. She says, what's wrong. I say these are really small. She opens one, throws it back in the bag. Starts to tell someone something then closes the window. Another 4-5 minutes goes by with no explanation, until the window opens to say here you are. You might want to check the size. We just went through an issue where we kept getting the wrong size bread... Not finished.. So I open this, what is to be the best sammy ever! Mainly because by now, we are starved, and a bit frustrated, maybe even a little hangry. Now, I am not, nor claim to be a sandwich expert. It sure does seem like my previous sandwiches ingrediants were thrown into a bigger toasted bun. I am totally fine with this. I know what frustration looks like... The person who gave my bun the What for, should probably see a therapist. Like someone got mad at my bread and went to squishy town on it. So morale of the story? You want a big, beautiful, and inexpensive sammy? Go to Harris Teeter for like under $6, and get...
Read moreInattentive and rude staff, waited 5 minutes to be greeted. Food in the sense that it keeps you alive (barely). Oh, and don't take your children in, they don't seem to be able to tolerate them. That's about the size of it.
Reply from business: "That was a loud scream that your daughter made....our only comment was that was a child....we do not have a lot of children and we are a small space...it was noticiable... you also told us many times no jelly....we got it on the first time....we are not idiots because we work in a restaurant....which most people assume...sorry that you felt bad about your visit....but honestly people were treating the staff bad all day....sometimes it is hard to overcome....because they are people too, that should be treated with respect."
There you have it, excuses and no ability to professionally run a business. Best part is I wasn't this jelly customer. This is pathetic. Enjoy
Second response from business: "I would love to understand your side...not an excuse....my number is (who cares)"
Third response from business: "I wish you would have expressed your concerns at the time...I could have addressed"
Hypothesis: this business is unable to accept their own admitted poor conduct (integrity?) and a critical review. I guess their feelings got hurt. Maybe shouldn't have called them out. On second thought maybe it will result their growth...
