I was initially excited to go on the Porgy & Bess Dights and Insights tour. Initially. Then Al Miller, the owner, kept making unkind and unnecessary references to and about people with larger bodies. First, he spoke about how my colleague was "struggling" to see him around another colleague who was larger bodied. Then when he pointed out a small house on the corner of America street he talked a previous tourist who suggested how she wouldn't ve able to turn around in the house. He was so proud of himself for not saying anything to her face, but he still talked about her and her body. Then, I was the last victim. After teaching about the lowcountry clap and that being an active part of funerals, he suggested I would be ready to take 2 plates away after the funeral. Final critic he references women as females. Al Miller, I can tell I'm asking an old dog to perform new tricks, but reconsider your language and how you talk to, at, and around people. The Sites & Insights Black History tour of Charleston was fantastic. We were in Santee SC for our family reunion and several family members and I made the trip back into Charleston just for the tour. Al Miller was accommodating and made certain that we all got onboard the tour. The tour bus was clean, air conditioned and had toilet facilities. recently went with my family and boyfriend on a tour with mr.miller and he was amazing!! he was very knowledgeable and any question that was asked, he had an answer to. he gave us food recommendations, cracked jokes, took us all throughout charleston and gave us in- depth facts and information about the architecture all around town. he even stopped at a couple places for us because we wanted to take pictures. he was friendly, inviting, kind and went above and beyond for this tour. the price point was unbeatable and i would recommend this tour to anyone looking to know more about the history...
