TACOS SABROSOS!!!!!! Great place with indoor and outdoor seating. Great menu offering more than just the “typical” Mexican fare. Small plates, salads, Quesadillas, and more. But when at TACO BOY, you have to go with tacos, right? They have more than the usual chicken or beef (although those are offered). There’s Crispy Avocado, Kimchi beef, Baja, and grilled fish to name a few. The tacos are good sized too, not like some restaurants where they have “specialty” tacos and it’s really just a taco bite. I went with a taco platter of 3 tacos with refried beans and rice. The tacos were amazing. Each had its own unique flavor. They arrived hot to the table with fresh quality ingredients and layers of flavor. I first had the OG Buttermilk Crispy Taco with rainbow slaw, jalapeño mayo, chipotle BBQ, and green onions. My mouth is starting to water just writing about it. SO good. Juicy, crispy chicken topped with the slaw. Everybite was packed with flavor. Then I moved on to the Crispy Avocado. OMG. Just when I didn’t think it could get any better, I’m blown away. The crispy avocado was incredible on its own but topped with the Thai chile sauce and that rainbow slaw….total yumminess. I licked my fingers it was so good. The next was the Kimchi Beef. Tender (like no knife needed) steak…no fat, no grizzle, just tasty goodness, with Korean BBQ sauce, kimchi, and toasted sesame seeds. Another stellar flavor packed hand held masterpiece. Just delicious. To be honest, skip the rice and beans. They are average at best and in my opinion down play the awesome flavors of the tacos themselves. Plus you don’t need any fillers…the tacos are good sized. We started out with an appetizer from the small plates section of the menu, Mexican Street Corn Dip. It was also very good. Much more cheese than corn which isn’t what we were expecting but it didnt deter us from eating every last drop. (BTW, it’s filling for a “small Plate”), Came with chips which were crispy thin, fresh, with just the right amount of salt. Also had cocktails. Went with Margaritas. The Pineapple made with pineapple infused tequila, with cinnamon and vanilla, and the Cadillac, a Casa marg topped with Grand Mariner. Both were ok. Kind of bland w/o much flavor. A bit disappointing. In an attempt to redeem a low marg rating I opted to try another. Wise decision! The Hibiscus Margarita with Grand Mariner (rather than OJ) was 5 stars. It was rimmed with cinnamon-fennel salt which was a great flavor. Will definitely be...

Oh boy, let me taco 'bout Taco Boy in Charleston, SC! First off, let me shell out the basics: this place is nacho average taco joint. It's a fiesta of flavors that'll make you wanna salsa dance right there on the beach!

Now, I'm a simple man. I like my lawn mowed, my jokes dad-level, and my tacos packed with flavor. And let me tell you, Taco Boy doesn't disappoint. Their tacos are like a treasure chest of taste, and I'm not just spicing things up here. The Carnitas Taco? More like Car-NEAT-as, because it's the neatest little package of pork you'll ever eat. And the Fish Taco? It's off the hook! Literally, it must've been swimming yesterday because it's that fresh.

The atmosphere? It's like if a beach party and a family BBQ had a baby. It's casual, it's fun, and there's enough sun to go around. The decor is as colorful as the language I use when I stub my toe on the beach chair—vibrant and full of life!

Now, let's taco 'bout the service. The staff at Taco Boy are the real MVPs. They're quicker than me running to the thermostat when someone touches it. And they're friendlier than me when I see the neighbor's dog—always happy to see ya!

But wait, there's more! The margaritas are so good, they'll make you forget about your long "to-dew" list. And the chips and guac? Holy guacamole, it's like dipping into heaven.

So, if you're in Charleston and looking for a place that's got more charm than a dad's puns at a family gathering, head on over to Taco Boy. It's a place where every day is Taco Tuesday, and the only thing better than the food is the company.

Taco Boy is the place to be if you're looking to spice up your life with some good eats and great beats. And remember, if you don't like tacos, I'm nacho type of guy! Keep it...

Our first Taco Boy experience was quiet & tasty! 😋 Upon arriving, it doesn't look too nice from the outside...then you walk in and it's this gorgeous restaurant with a huge patio and yard area, all behind a huge fence. You'd have no idea you were right by a major roadway!

We started with the Spicy Margarita and Hibiscus Margarita. Sometimes you can't taste the spice in spicy drinks, but you could definitely taste the jalapeno and it was GOOD! The Hibiscus Margarita was equally refreshing but with sweet notes.

The kids opted for hotdogs with rice and a hibiscus drink. They didn't care for the aftertaste that the hibiscus drink had, but I loved it! Both gobbled up the hotdog and rice.

Hubby had a burrito with carnita meat and a side of salsa Verde. The burrito was a perfect balance of creamy, meaty goodness in a crispy tortilla wrap. The salsa Verde was tangy with a slow burn spice that was SO GOOD! He also had the street corn off the cob. It was fresh and delicious!

I had 2 tacos with rice and black beans. The rice had a nice mild flavor and the beans were cooked with cilantro and carried more flavor than I expected. The. Baja Taco with Mahi was not my favorite and I wouldn't order it again. The fish tasted like an overdone tiny fish stick and the other flavors weren't strong enough to hide it. The sauce was sweet, which I did like, but could've used more of. The Kimchi Beef was loaded with flavor and a little spice and I would absolutely get it again!! There were several chunks of steak.

All in all, we'd definitely come again, but maybe at happy hour. The prices for what you got were a little high, ok,...
