Waffle House — Restaurant in Charleston

Let me start off by saying I worked at the Waffle House on highway 78 so I understand how Waffle House runs and I would have never of treated a costumer this way.This was by far the worst experience I've had. I walked in to place a Togo order. Stood there for about 15 minutes and wasn't acknowledged. I was asked "are you trying to sit at the bar?" And when I said "no I need to place a Togo order" they walked away. I then after the 15 minutes went towards the register hoping someone would notice me. Nope. I stood there for about another 10 minutes and all I got was a look and walk away as if they didn't want to be bothered. In this time they also denied about 4 costumers who called wanting to place a Togo order stating it was "to busy" i don't know how this Waffle House runs or if these employees were new but on highway 78 we never denied a paying costumer. So one lady came back on from smoking a cigarette (how she managed to do so when it was to busy to take order I'll never understand) and I asked if they were not taking orders. She replied with " not over the phone" I said "how about in person because I've been here over twenty minutes and haven't even been acknowledged " her response was "we'll get to you when we can, we're to busy." While all this was going on the cook was constantly yelling, one server kept mumbling under her breath "you've got to be kidding." And "I don't know what the hell im doing" so after I was told they couldn't take my order after I had waited so long I left. Sucks to all those who denied taking my order because I usually give a generous tip. Most unprofessional, disrespectful trip I've ever had at this Waffle House. I seriously hope things change because I couldn't believe the way I was...

Not the best waffle house. The guy who, I assume was my server; it was difficult to tell if he was actually on the clock or just hanging out, didn't come over to greet me until prompted by another employee, who was sitting at the counter apparently doing some paperwork. My first cup of coffee was terrible, clearly very old. My eggs were over cooked- which never usually happens in a waffle house. There was one employee there who actually seemed to care about her job. She arrived for her shift just after I had sat down and I wished she were my server. Even though she wasnt, she still greeted me, and brought me a fresh cup of coffee. She seemed really upbeat, had a positive attitude, and was poilte and friendly. The cook snapped at her as she was calling in an order, because he was busy making...One other order. And then, he still got it wrong. Another employee who was off duty, came in and ordered food togo. While sitting near me at the counter, he was telling the cook (loudly) about the other night when he was working, and a woman had a concealed weapon inside the restaurant. It was a hand gun and she pulled it out, in the parking lot, to chase away some sort of riff raff who was harassing customers as they were walking in. Towards the end of my visit, my server told me I should come work there cause, "the manager doesn't care if we smoke weed". This was by far my worst experience with service in a waffle house and I won't be back to...

OMG first time well two last times I been and last time I will ever be in this place .. The first one the people where rude as hell, place was full dirty dishes everywhere, the entire place was fithly.The only person truely working was the cook and one old white man running around doing everything while 3 others stood around. We asked after 15 min with no one saying a thing to us if it would be ok to sit here ( where dirty dishes where) the one lady said yes as soon as he pointing at the old white guy cleans it up then walks away to go stand and do nothing.. We left... The next one I believe his one that I am reviewing was now as full and not as filthy but still makes me wonder how they pass health department..( we only stayed due to driving 8 hours no places open or around we we're starving ... The white lady greeted us that was so much better . A clear place to sit and not dishes on tables nice. Ordered fast while we waited a young man cleaning dishes or something in front of us (as we were at the bar top) started talking to us, that was just fine untill he started to talk about his hemorrhoids, really!!! This is not what we really wanted to hear about sitting in dirty restaurant waiting to eat food... These places really need to get there act order. I will be googling the other on just a few miles north of this one and calling the health...
