This Thanksgiving, my wife and I had the pleasure of experiencing unparalleled hospitality at the Bridge Street Tap Room in Charlevoix, Michigan. Our evening there was nothing short of extraordinary, and it’s an experience we’ll remember forever.
As we strolled through Charlevoix, a town already brimming with warmth and spiritual charm, my wife’s diabetic alarm began to sound. It was late, and we knew finding an open kitchen would be a challenge. Despite the late hour and the tap room’s kitchen being officially closed, the staff, led by the gracious barista Leticia, went above and beyond to accommodate us.
Leticia’s kindness and understanding turned what could have been a stressful situation into a heartwarming moment. She arranged for a carry-out turkey dinner for two, embodying the spirit of Thanksgiving in every way. The meal was a masterpiece—unbelievably delicious and generously portioned. It included tender turkey, flavorful green bean casserole, creamy mashed potatoes, a fresh salad, and a decadent peanut butter chocolate chip pie to top it all off. Each bite was infused with the holiday’s magic and warmth.
We paired the meal with a bottle of Drumheller Merlot, which complemented the feast perfectly. Taking the bottle to go allowed us to savor the evening even longer, reflecting on the generosity we had just experienced.
This act of kindness wasn’t just about the food; it was a reflection of the caring, spiritual nature that seems to define Charlevoix. In a town where the nearest open eatery was nearly an hour away, the Bridge Street Tap Room provided not just sustenance but also a sense of community and compassion.
My wife and I are deeply grateful to Leticia and the entire team at the Bridge Street Tap Room for turning what could have been a challenging Thanksgiving into a memorable celebration. Their thoughtfulness and incredible food were a testament to the heart and soul of Charlevoix. If you ever find yourself in this lovely town, do yourself a favor and visit the Bridge Street Tap Room—it’s a place where kindness and culinary excellence meet in the most...
Read moreThis place was overall okay. Prices are okay, food is okay, service is okay but slow and sparse. They seem like they want you to get out of there.
Several flies buzzing around and some dead ones in the windowsill. Please take care of the flies. They are a very bad sign in a restaurant that something is rotting somewhere.
Nachos were good, almost no brisket on them , needed more sauces and toppings like perhaps jalapenos, and slightly overcooked. I prefer them slightly overdone as opposed to underdone.
Needs more toppings to become less dry. Nacho cheese sauce is a good inexpensive option to make them juicier. There are decent brands or recipes. Drinks are too expensive to be so small. The drinks were good but the prices and sizes are off.
Wait staff is okay. They did not do anything besides the bare minimum. The wait was a while, but that is not under the restaurants control, they got us in quickly compared to the estimated time.
Wonderful view and building over the harbor, seems like a fun bar for locals, albeit overpriced when the place across the street, not on the harbor, does $3 for a PBR.
However, for $30 per person and then some for a tip, it was lackluster. I feel that this place can do better (or worse). Please take care of the flies, they are very unnerving to customers to think of rotting food in the back that flies can breed in. Also, please add more brisket to the nachos, or even just jalapenos & cheese sauce, because they are dry when they should be dripping with good stuff.
If the nachos were juicy and loaded, drinks were slightly larger, and most important, flies eradicated and their dead bodies cleaned from windowsills, I would have given this place 5 stars.
The flies are the real problem. I can tolerate decent food and decent drinks, even at exorbitant prices; flies mean unsanitary and are not acceptable. Please fix it as I would love to return in the...
Read moreSo the blonde girl that works there is the rudest server I have encountered in a decade. Got there on a Saturday night for dinner, was given a glass of brown water to start with, I think it was a little bit of leftover soda from the bev gun but STILL, who serves brown water to one guest and regular looking water to my friend? Anyway….we ordered as soon as the server person came over. She was rude and rushed. We ordered chips and salsa for a starter, and 2 entrees. Mine was the steak. I asked for it to be cooked medium. Food came out, I dig into my steak after 2 bites it tasted like it had that weird freezer burnt taste. So I set it aside and ate my side Caesar salad, when the person finally came back I explained how it tasted and she completely gave me a dirty look, said that she just got those in so that couldn’t be true, basically called me a liar to the point that I apologized for saying something!! Who is this person?!!! Anyway, she dropped the check, only took $3.00 off my $30 steak that I took 2 bites of and ate none of the cold hard potatoes on the side and then when I tried to pay inside after sitting there for 10 min ready to leave she hollered from across the bar go back outside I will be there in a minute. She was so fricken rude. Blonde person with short hair and the Michigan t shirt last night….I hope being a jerk to a first time customer really made your day. We will never go back and...
