Cafe Meria – A Hidden Gem in Charlevoix That’s Bursting with Soul and Flavor.
Cafe Meria is the kind of place that doesn’t just serve food and coffee—it serves an experience. From the moment you walk in, there’s an undeniable charm and authenticity that sets it apart. The flavors here are ingeniously crafted, with every sip and bite telling a story of passion, freshness, and thoughtful sourcing.
We started with the house mocha—rich, velvety, and made from their very own organic, in-house roasted beans. The bergamot rose-infused tea was equally enchanting—fragrant, balanced, and unlike anything we’ve tasted. The beauty? You can customize everything to your liking, right from your table, thanks to their intuitive tablet ordering system. No waiting in line, just pure ease.
Now, the food—wow. The tuna croffle is a revelation: crispy, buttery croissant pressed into a waffle and topped with perfectly seasoned tuna. And the mango habanero chicken? A bold, sweet-heat explosion that still lingers in the best way. Even the rice breakfast bowl was a surprise hit—proof that simplicity and quality ingredients can absolutely shine.
One of the most brilliant and unexpected touches? The music playing softly in the background—original songs about Cafe Meria itself and its ingredients. It’s quirky, creative, and undeniably cool—like a personalized soundtrack for your dining experience. Ingenious.
The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and yes, dog-friendly! Our Yorkie was greeted with genuine warmth and allowed to enjoy the cozy space with us. And Jesse, the owner? Truly one of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll meet. His love for the craft is evident in every detail.

Read moreI went to Cafe Meria today, and my overall opinion is that it is below average for my expectations. We ordered multiple items including drinks and croffles, and it took 30 minutes just to receive the first item (lemonade). The rest of the food came out sporadically giving us food before drinks. As mentioned in other reviews, it was indicated that my croffle should be not made to order and chilled so that the whipped cream would not melt. As shown in my picture it was melted within a couple seconds, while the other chocolate croffle was cold. The customer service did not meet my expectations as nobody greeted us at the door and the ordering system was a little confusing. The slowness of the cafe could be due to the disorganized setup/workers. Overall, my experience today at cafe meria was disappointing.
Edit: there was a refund issued for our order that day, therefore I respect Cafe Meria for listening to their...
Read more$14 for two 16oz coffees. Ordered at the window, was handed a buzzer… 5minutes later the buzzer goes off, we go to the window to collect our coffees… to be handed two empty cups and told “you have to come inside to get your coffee”… so we go inside to pump our own coffee (we’re not above this, by any means, but for $7 a pop you’d think they would do this), only for the pitcher to run dry… only when I asked, did the gentlemen working START to brew (that’s right, brew- not pour over, not espresso- a regular coffee maker) more coffee, while the coffee I had pour got cold. The coffee was “fine”, nothing special, and certainly not $7 worth… Circle K down the street had equally good coffee, for $1.50 and friendly employees. Cafe Meria probably has good fancy coffee drinks, but that’s not our preference so we can’t speak to the...
