Charlevoix South Pier Lighthouse — Attraction in Charlevoix

Stopped by to check out the lighthouse while we were in the area. Nice short walk from the downtown area. The beach area near the lighthouse is nice for swimming if you wanted a sandy area to swim. The area is nice for taking photos and taking a little while to relax at. Nice large American flag at the top of the hill with the water in the background makes it picture perfect! Great beach. Many people out sifting the sand for Petoskey and Charlevoix Stones. Lighthouse is gorgeous against the blue sky. They have nice clean bathrooms and a concession stand however that wasn't open when I was there. Super close parking that lines the beach. And nice grassy shaded park area with benches. This is a beautiful place to watch the boats entering and exiting the channel. The lighthouse is a steel structure on top of a concrete platform, which doesn't sound that great, except it is... kids love climbing all around it.
