Be careful at this restaurant. I've paid over the phone for my food before without any issues. Yesterday I ordered 1/2 pound of crab legs, 1/2 pound of sausage, and 6 Oysters which should have totaled about $33. I heard the young lady punch in my information and a noise that it was approved, I told her my sister was going to pick up my order. My sister gets there and they have the order but they said they had no record of me paying, there was no receipt for any charge, they claimed they checked audio and video and she never took my payment information. My sister went ahead and paid again for my food and I called my credit card company to see what was going on because someone definitely took my information. The credit card company told me that there was a pending charge for $218.61 for Crab Du Jour so I had to cancel my card because I'm not sure what else could have been done with my information. I told my sister she turned around and she went back to the store because they lied and when she got there, she told them what my credit card company said. The first thing they said was we need a statement showing that but then somehow, someone found the receipt they could never find with my $218.61 charge. The GM said they normally don't allow you to pay over the phone unless the order is over $100 but I've paid before without any issues due the online system not working properly, and my orders have definitely not been over $100 for one person. The GM said it must have been a mistake but how is that such a mistake when you claimed no one ever took my credit card information. The GM gave my sister her name and number and said if I wanted to pay over the phone in the future, she would help me and gave the owner's number. When I called the owner he said the person would no longer be working there (but I'm not sure if that is true )and if I gave him my name and number the next time he would give me 50% off my order. REALLY? After all the chaos when people were intentionally lying, when not only did I pay over for my food and my sister paid for it again you offer me 50% off. I'm really sad and disappointed that this happened because this is the only place, I go for crab legs. I definitely will not be going to this restaurant again and beware what you use for payment because at this point there is no telling what they do over the phone or at the store with your...
Read moreThis restaurant staff is very unprofessional, manager included. Our server & other servers were amazing & tentative. We went back to the front desk to politely ask when we would receive service just to rudely be told “we’re working on it” & still waited an additional 40 minutes. So total time that we waited after being seated was an hour & 45 minutes before our orders were taken. Most of the hostess (except for a young man) & the manager had attitudes. The food was good & once we received a server he was great( young man, name starts with a K).
Round 2: We went back a 2nd time but placed an online order instead, hoping this would alleviate the wait & bypass the rude staff at the front. Only to be told they do not have an order for us. I showed where my bank account had been deducted for the food but the manager insisted (without even asking) that I ordered from a fake website. After I showed her my browser history (confirming the correct website), she then stated I never placed an order, then said I placed the order at the wrong location, then said I needed to enter a confirmation number after paying for my order for it to go through. She stated I would receive a refund but how can I receive a refund if you are stating you never received my order & you do not have it in your system? I became tired of going back & forth with her & no resolution in sight so I just disputed the transaction with my credit card company and placed an order at Juicy Crab that took 2 seconds to do. Their online system was efficient, quick, and transparent. Immediately sending a confirmation screen after the order with a pick up time, etc, followed by an email. Was greeted with professional friendly people and didn’t have to wait 1 minute, our food was ready.
UPDATE: Today as in 24 hours later (picture attached), I’m just now receiving a text stating my order that was placed 2pm yesterday (that the manager said didn’t exist & that I didn’t place) is just now being confirmed, so again is it user error or something wrong with the online ordering platform? The response from the resturant further explains why my experiences have been poor. Clearly there is no accountability and acknowledgment of the actual issues but instead blame is...
Read moreScam Alert 2/14/21 My husband & I dined here on Valentine’s Day with another couple. The food was ok; the service was poor. There was a sign posted at the door that read “18% gratuity for parties of 6 more”, as I stated it was four of us. When we got our tickets we were shocked to see that we had been charged 18% gratuity. When we asked why we were told that it was mandatory on holidays. We questioned if it was posted and we were told it was on the holiday menu- it wasn’t but even so we didn’t order off of that menu. The waitress spoke with the manager, who came over aggressively and louder than she had to be saying that it’s mandatory on holidays. We voiced our concerns to her regarding the service we had received and the fact that the sign at the door said something different. She told us that she would remove the 18% and asked if we’d “hook” the waitress up with 15%, to which I replied that I’d give her what her service was worth. The manager told us she would take the gratuity off of the bill. We waited 30 min and another waitress came over with a bill that had a 10% “ mandatory “ tip; at this point we’re annoyed because we’re being forced to pay what they thought we should pay. The money wasn’t the issue, it was the fact that they we’re misleading their patrons. When we told the 2nd waitress that we had already spoken to the manger and was told that the tip would be removed, she stormed off saying “ I’m not dealing with this today” and called the police. Again, we weren’t trying to dine and dash and we were going to tip, but they were strong arming us, by trying to force us to tip generously for poor service. When the police came management was told that it was a civil matter and we could not be forced to leave a tip- which at this point we did not. I call this a scam bc if you are operating on holiday rules where everyone is charged 18% gratuity why post your general gratuity rules for tipping at the door? Poor customer service, poor management. We asked waitress to dump our crab shells- she never did, never refilled our drinks, there was food missing out of our bags and we were told that the kitchen was backed up bc they were trying to get out...
