We were so excited for this place and the whole visit ended in tears and disappointment from the kids and total frustration from the adults.
We have family visiting from out of town (15+ hours away) and they picked this place because of how cool it looked from pictures on the website. The older girls talked about riding the bull for DAYS and then we get there and it’s nowhere to be seen?? Actually, a handful of the things that the website says are available attractions aren’t anywhere to be seen in the building.
Then while my son was playing in the dodge ball area a worker came up to me and said “management said he's not allowed to be in here” I was so confused because NO WHERE on the rules does it have an age limit! I was so mad because he was having so much fun with another kid picking up the balls and giving them back. He wasn’t breaking any rules or causing any problems according to the sign on the area. There were only 3 other smaller kids in the area playing at the same time and they weren’t acting crazy or I obviously would have pulled him out myself. I would completely understand if a bunch of big kids were being rough and playing an actual game of dodge ball but that wasn’t the case. I think it’s because the worker wanted to screw around and not be responsible for running into my child. The worker who told us to leave kept doing really hard jumps and backflips and was the ONLY one being crazy!
So then I take him over to the “6 and under” area which was practically pointless. 5 and 6 year olds can be so rough and that’s exactly what was happening each time he tried to play. Kids jumping way too hard and running through the tunnels way too fast. I can’t even tell you how many times he was knocked down, I was getting so angry that he couldn’t enjoy anything! That’s why most children’s areas are 3 and under so the little kids can actually play without getting trampled.
Then while leading my younger son around to find something he could actually do, he kept getting distracted by all the random exposed extension cords and outlets. I couldn’t believe it! You’d think anything electrical would be safely contained but that wasn’t the case at all. And to make it worse one of the exposed areas was right in the children’s section and the strip of plug ins was lit up which attracts attention!
Then right before we left we put some money in one of the games and it malfunctioned, when we asked a worker if they could fix it they said it was operated by a 3rd party and they weren’t able to do anything about it. Which is just absolutely ridiculous to me! If you’re gonna offer different snack and game machines you need to take responsibility when one malfunctions!
I’m so glad we did a single visit before signing up for a membership. We’ve had a membership at DEFY for almost 6 years and regret not going there instead. Now we have almost $20 worth of jump socks we won’t ever use again. Especially irritating after paying full price for my son to just get run over the whole time and really only get to safely play in like 1/4...

Read moreWe were really excited to visit Big Air, as we recently attended the one in Matthew’s and had a blast. It was completely empty when we got in, which we don’t mind, however, it was just really quiet. We have been with defy for almost a year, and were looking forward to switching memberships to this park. The park is clean, equipment brand new, and the staff were super friendly and involved. That’s the only reason the park is getting 3 stars. The signing up for a membership part of our experience, however, took almost 25-30 minutes. I almost just said never mind, and went back to Defy. I had to sign up on my phone, as you can’t sign up for a membership in store, which I thought was strange, and the only option for the membership was for 3 months. I wasn’t expecting to get forced into a 3 month $85 + $5 fee membership. We finally were able to get signed up, and then the computer system was malfunctioning after I paid for the membership. I would have rather signed for a month to make sure my daughter actually enjoyed it VS getting stuck with this 3 month membership. It’s also disappointing that there aren’t member discounts at the cafe like defy offers. Moving on, she did enjoy herself, however, after about 30 minutes I could tell she was over it. She was super excited to play at the jungle gym in the corner when she spotted it, but was let down when she was told she couldn’t play because she was 7, as it is for 6 and under. This park just seems like it’s targeted for older, bigger kids as all of the obstacles are more advanced. My daughter is small for her age, and with her being on the spectrum, it just was pretty disappointing that there wasn’t much for her to enjoy. The claw machines are a scam, as the claws are super loose and don’t let you actually grip any of the prizes, so don’t even waste your dollars on that. I actually regret signing up for the membership, but that’s my fault for not just buying a single day ticket to see what it was like, I guess I was just expecting it to be more exciting like the other one. Overall, we will obviously have to try again and hope for a better impression next time. If it wasn’t for the 4 other people in there, I’m sure it would of been a different experience for her, so thank God they showed up after us and let her...
