We were staying at the hotel for one night where Nine & Fettle is located and decided on a nightcap in the bar. It's a nicely designed boutique-y space that matches the overall flare of the hotel. We were just looking for drinks and their cocktails looked pretty fabulous. Watching the bartender actually make them to was a pretty fun production, especially when he got into double-handed shaking mode. The drinks we got were okay. We selected the Pirate Jenny IV and the Down But Nut Out cocktails. Both were beautiful to look at, but not sweet at all and a little hard to drink. I'm not a fan of an overly sweet cocktail but both of these lacked any kind of sweet element to balance out the other flavors and make them go down a little more easily. There are also many other cocktails we could have chosen so it's possible others have a little bit more balanced flavor profile. Kudos also to them for having a "mocktails" section so anyone who doesn't drink can feel included in the fun. Although we didn't eat anything I loved that their food menu not only had plenty of options for vegetarians and gluten-free diners and those items are prominently labeled as such. (This was just the bar menu too...there are more such options don't the main dinner menu.) Not sure if this place is a destination on its own, but you'll do well if you're staying at the hotel to stop in for a meal, snack or drink.

Fine and Fettle was not exactly what I was expecting from the pictures. Of all the brunch location based off location alone; I would say possibly look at other options. Outside of it being a bit far from downtown Charlotte; this resturant is 100% attached to a hotel (what seems like a lobby). This was not really displayed in the pictures. Don't get me wrong some of the best resturants are attached to the rooftops of hotels but the quality and cost of food surely gave hotel cafeteria "vibes". Personally, the food wasn't all that great. The cost was high teens and low 20s. Some of their speciality drinks weren't good and staff was a bit hard to find at times. The staff we did interact with were sweet and did their job but it doesn't make up for the food at all. However, there is free 2 hour valet parking and the outside seating/near the window area was a nice view and space to enjoy the weather. I won't return but I hope that you find joy in your visit here at Fine and Fettle.

Katie was an amazing server. Hands down she was polite, attentive, and professional and deserves 5 stars. The food was decently priced, but aside from the apps, just okay. The atmosphere for the most part was very pleasant. Lighting could have been a tad warmer- it was dark and a slight aura of grey because of the tinted windows- which made it a little too dark. The bone marrow was delish and probably the highlight of my experience with the bacon jam. Cocktails tasted pretty good. The cranberry gingerbread one was delightful. I ordered the duck and it was served medium which wasn't an issue. The issue was that it definitely was a little tougher in texture (was wondering if it was frozen and reheated). Husband ordered the butcher's choice, ended up being a flank steak. We would have preferred strip or something like a filet. The food quality was good. Clean atmosphere. Comfortable seating. Extremely kind and attentive staff.

My partner and I went for valentines day and we sort of left with mixed feelings. On one hand, the food I could eat was good. Cocktails were also good. But for me, the issue was the limited menu. We made our reservation weeks in advance, based on their online menu. At the last minute they put out a valentines menu, which of course you don't see unless you're following on social media. But of course even if you saw it, it was posted a week before valentines and therefore too late to get a reservation anywhere in Charlotte. I only learned about the new menu a few hours before our Reservation because I visited their social media page and saw it. I was hoping their regular menu would still be available but it wasn't. I have a lot of food sensitivities for health reasons and the server told us that if we didn't like it then we could leave because they arent serving anything from their regular menu. Which...okay fair. But it's too late to go anywhere else. The menu had two options for each course and the entire 2nd course was inedible to me because of food sensitivities. But she said no substitutions. So we basically paid for this multi course meal that were weren't anticipating having, and I couldn't eat an entire course of it. The server also rang up the wrong drink for my partner which he then had to drink because the server made us feel guilty about it. And his duck had multiple chunks of inedible fat. Again, the food we did have was mostly good. Drinks were good. But the last minute menu change and the limiting options on it was really a let down. We were looking at three other places to go for dinner on that night, all of which HAD their valentines menu up a month in advance. We ultimately choose Fine & Fettle based on the reviews in combo with the menu and drink options online. So having a last minute change when it's already too late to go somewhere else was really disheartening. And I know for a fact we weren't the only ones because the couple sitting next to us said the same thing, that they made a reservation before the new "special" menu came out and they ended up leaving altogether. She flat out said she'd rather go nowhere than waste their money on something they weren't wanting. And I wish my partner and I would've done the same because ultimately it was $200 for a meal I didn't want and an entire course I couldn't eat, off of a VERY limiting menu. SO. I'm not really sure if we would...

We stayed at the Canopy and ate here out of convenience since it's their "lobby" restaurant. We both ordered the sweet potato pancakes with Chantilly cream for breakfast but they only had one serving of them, so we switched one of our orders to the Belgian waffle which was supposed to come with lemon ricotta and a berry compote. When the server brought out the dishes, the Chantilly cream and ricotta cheese was missing because they said they were out of the ricotta. They didn't tell us this before serving it, otherwise we probably would have ordered something else again. It's like ordering a cheese burger and then they just bring out a regular burger because they are out of cheese. They should have mentioned that.

Thinking it might have been a fluke since we were there at the tail end of breakfast, we returned for dinner at a reasonable 7 pm. The server however told us that that were out of Peaches & Honey appetizer, all burgers, all pizzas, all wings, etc. They told us the frozen pizza dough would be defrosted in ten minutes if we wanted to wait, though, so we did. My wife ended up ordering a pizza (which actually came out delicious) and a salad, and I ordered the Butcher's Cut steak (a New York strip). For some strange reason our pizza and steak came out ten minutes before the salad. Unfortunately my steak was overdone (requested medium rare, came out medium well) and everything on the plate (including the potatoes and greens) was way too salty.

Service is slow despite there being just two or three tables here from 7 PM until now as I write this at 8:30 PM waiting for my steak recook. I can't say I would recommend this place.

Edit: recooked steak came out and was actually delicious, cooked properly and salted appropriately.

Second edit: tried their lattes on the day of our departure and they were cold and watery. We will...

I made reservations here to celebrate my wife's birthday with friends and family (a group of 8 women). Our reservations were set for 1:30p.m. and we arrived just about 15mins early only to be told that our table had been given away to a party that was late to their reservation, so our options were to push together smaller tables, dine outside in 94° weather or wait until another party celebrating a birthday finished their meal. I feel it is also important to note that the entire party that had our table was not present. There were 3 people seated at the table that should've been ours (not even half of the party they were supposed to have), but still the table was given away to accommodate THEM simply because "someone from that party FINALLY showed up before my group". The hostess wnor manager Andrew were empathetic in any way and obviously need more training dealing with situations like this. We were offered a bottle of champagne while we waited and who wants to drink on an empty stomach?? We were only offered that after I strongly suggested to Andrew that he needed to do something to make this issue right. He was unapologetic and never addressed my group. He came out to bring drinks, but had his staff address any issues. We watched the "late party" and others order the items we wanted from the menu and by the time we for seated; all of those items were sold out. Needless to say I'm extremely disappointed with this experience. I definitely expected more and will...
