Fantastic food and great service. The waiters Terrence and Eric are extremely knowledgeable on the food items and can tell you what everything is and what would pair well with entrees. They also told me the desserts are made fresh at a local bakery and delivered to the restaurant.
The managers of this establishment make rounds (table touches) to the guests tables and ask how everything is going and this to me is an important aspect in the restaurant industry so compliments to the chefs and servers can be passed on from the customer. You never know how impactful receiving a compliment for your hard work from a superior can be after a long day of working because in my experience when everything in a restaurant is going smoothly you will usually not hear any feedback from customers or management but when something is wrong you will always hear about it. Simply paying a compliment down the line can really make someone's day, especially when the food and service go above and beyond the norm.
The prime rib is always cooked perfectly! The side of mushrooms, au jus, and the horse radish sauce pair perfectly with it. The lobster fondue salmon is a unique and delicious dish. The ahi tuna appetizer is a must, it is served with a chopped vegetable salad that has cabbage, edamame and wontons in it. It is covered in a semi-sweet sauce, the official Firebirds recipe website says it's a cilantro lime vinaigrette. The Stone Crest location has two other sauces served with it on the side that aren't mentioned on the recipe guide; a spicy mayo and some sort of ginger dressing.
We went here for a birthday and the Big Daddy Chocolate Cake was one of the best, not to mention largest, slices of moist chocolate cake with not too sweet of ganache frosting and topped with chocolate shavings. Also a complimentary crème brûlée was brought to the Birthday Girl which finished the event nicely.
Ended up coming back the next weekend and tried the snapper that was on the menu and it was very very good. It was served with a side of a slightly spicy sauce that seemed to contain some sort of raspberry compote and chili flakes and a slight honey taste. Will definitely be ordering that again. Brand new desserts were on the menu for this occasion and they were awesome. A lemon cake with blueberry compote and a baked butter cake with fresh blueberries and strawberries. The edges of this cake were just slightly crispy, caramelized and brûléed, giving it a perfect texture.
Another family members birthday is in late August and this is definitely the spot we will be taking them for another...
Read moreHorrible service. Called twice before I arrived to let someone know that we were celebrating an engagement. These two calls were “unsuccessful” in finding my reservation. When I arrived, the sweet hostess found it immediately. I made sure to mention to her, even though it’s on my notes in OpenTable that we are celebrating the engagement. I made it very clear that I am more than happy to pay for any type of “celebration.” The hostess said that they bring out something at the end with “congrats” on the plate. She said “I will make sure to tell your server.” Next, as I went to the restroom and came right back out- the hostess let me know again that she told the server. As soon as we sit down, Carolanne says “Oh we are celebrating an engagement?” At this point it’s awkward, it’s an unspoken rule what’s supposed to happen at a celebration that is disclosed from the person being celebrated. Okay, cool, too late to change anything—move on. It’s the principle of it. So next, we ask for a spicy margarita. Next comes some smart mouth comment about a current special margarita. Okay, yeah, we already saw the margarita. Next, we say- yea- that one sounds great if you could just omit the peach puree. Her next comment is, “oh so you just want a spicy margarita?” I do believe so, Carolanne, since that’s what we asked for in the first place.
Random manager or whatever on duty comes up next. While he’s awkwardly channeling his inner Steve Irwin and chasing a crane fly, he stumbles upon our table with a “D*mnit, tried to get him to stop. I can’t get him over here. This way, boy.”
He asks us how everything is, I let him know food is good, wanted to keep the “engagement celebration treat” on the low until the end. This comment is completely unacknowledged with a “well when someone is celebrating something we say something about it as soon as they sit down.”
Please, tell me where they do that at. At the end, “congrats, can I get you dessert?” You mean the one i asked for in the beginning?
The receipt said in the modifications “SEND NOW,” which explained why we received our Caesar salads 45 seconds before our entree. Carolanne said “they came out late, sorry.”
The crane fly flew out...
Read moreThis was my third time visiting this location. I love the location of the restaurant; traffic isn't too hectic and there is a nice shopping area. Also, the atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice with the exception of this past Sunday. The waitresses are pretty professional and attentive for the most part; however, they do seem to struggle with covering multiple tables and appear to be discombobulated at times. My only major complaint is the way the greeters treat you if you don't have a reservation. Within the last 2 weeks I had dinner with 2 friends here. I didn't make a reservation either time, but the first time we were accommodated fairly quickly. This past Sunday, my friend and I arrived and after we explained that we didn't have a reservation we were told that the wait was approximately 45 minutes. The male greeter who wore a (burgundy shirt and had dark hair), and was rude. He seemed in a rush and kept asking if we wanted to be added to the wait list in a snappy way. After saying yes, he took my name and number and stated he would call me when our table was ready. After sitting in the car for 45 minutes with no call or text and watching several parties leave, we decided to call inside. The young lady that answered the phone said that my name was not listed and placed me on a hold. After waiting on hold about 10 minutes we walked in (still on hold), spoke with the same guy as before and he said that our name had been removed. When I asked him why he stated that he called me and I did not answer. I had absolutely no missed calls. He still seemed to have an attitude, no one ever answered the call on hold, BUT the manager and waiter were very polite and attentive. Several other parties and pick up orders came in after us and several asked to speak with managers. There was a lot of clutter and escalated issues at the entrance (we sat at very first table up front). I had the ribeye, baked potato, and blt salad. The ribeye was too charred, baked potato was great, but salad is pretty good. My friend had ribs and street corn (off the cob with charred peppers). She said it was just ok. 3 out of 5...
