It’s difficult to even begin to describe how amazing this restaurant and it’s people are. So, I’ll share a little story for context. I live within walking distance and had stopped in a couple times for just a salad. They are so very good. There was a day a week or so ago that I woke up thinking about knafeh. It’s a dessert that is rarely found at any restaurant around here. If you haven’t ever tried it and lean towards desserts with a little savory aspect, TRY IT! It has cheese, sweetness and crunchy goodness. It’s made to order. So, I waited all day, then at dinner time went across the street and made a large order with some schwarma, kabobs, and KNAFEH. I paid and he told me it would be about 15 minutes. Then someone from the back came up and told me they were out of knafeh. He explained that never happens, but they just ran out of the ingredients on that particular day. I was so sad and told them how much I was looking forward to that one item. They apologized and offered me a baklava. I love baklava, but I just wasn’t feeling it that day so they refunded me for that item. I told them I was going to run an errand then come back for the food. When I came back about 15 minutes later, the guy at the front counter told me it was gong to be another 15 minutes, because when the owner found out how much I was looking forward to knafeh, he decided to LEAVE TO GO GET THE INGREDIENTS TO MAKE ME SOME! I could not believe this level of customer service. This was quite an amazing way to show your restaurant goes above and beyond! When I got home with my knafeh and lots of other foods, I immediately cut a piece for my daughter and myself. We ate it first! It was spectacular and even better than I had imagined it all day. 20 out of 10! If you have never tried it, RUN to Jasmine! But while you’re there, try their other menu items. You will Not be disappointed! So far from there we have also tried and been overly impressed by their fatuch, beef and lamb schwarma, yellow rice, chicken kabobs, shrimp kabobs, kofta kabobs, lentil soup, hummus, baba ganoush, stuffed grape leaves, salad, and falafels. It is definitely our number one local restaurant currently and we have a million to choose from right by us! I'm including a pic of that perfect knafeh and some kabobs, veggie platter, and schwarma. It's all PERFECT! Even picky...
Read moreTLDR: Vegans be cautious, there were shreds of meat found in a vegetarian rice dish. Food is inconsistent. Customer service could use improvement.
Came here for lunch a few weeks ago and we fell in love with their Kabsa rice so me and my friend decided to order takeout from them last week. We looked in the takeout box, and it was not the same rice that we ordered the first time. For context, this is their traditional cultural rice and they charge extra for the spice but the rice we received had little spice and was not the same color as the first one. I called the restaurant and one of the managers confirmed that we received the correct rice, but they cannot guarantee consistency and that's why it was so different. Zack was the one we spoke to and he was very kind. He offered to take our name down and asked us to come back in whenever we wanted to get another order on the house. I was satisfied with that.
Today, after an event my friend and I decided to go back for the delicious rice and we dined in. We ordered the rice + falafel, salad, and a side of fava beans. We were more than halfway through the rice when we realized there was meat in it 🥴😭 it looked like shreds of beef or lamb that was used to season the meat and our waiter knew we were vegan. We called him over and he said it is never cooked with meat, just carrots (and tomatoes?) neither of those were in our rice though which was odd. He reached out to the owner, and the owner seemed uncomfortable in talking to us and apologizing. He was short and said that the meal was on the house, and it won't happen again. He walked away before I got the chance to tell him that the meal was supposed to be on the house already because of what happened the first time. My friend and I sat and waited for 15 minutes before we had to flag down our waiter again and ask to bring the owner back. We spoke to the owner and it was an easy exchange, I explained the situation and requested a refund. He was open to that and refunded in cash.
I would love to continue supporting this business as it seems like it is run and managed by young men of color. However, they may need a woman's touch or someone who can help with consistency in food and also with customer...
Read moreThe food is very good, but had an awful experience last weekend. I called a day before to place my order. Upon arrival on the day that was agreed to pick up my order they didn’t have my order. The name or the order wasn't even in their system! Asked if I'm sure I ordered from this location, now I know I get the Ramadan brain sometimes, but for sure, I ordered from there. They blamed it on the kitchen, saying they were the ones that did not see my order. They offered to cook the family platter that I had already ordered the day before, and told me it will only take 15 min, incredulously, I asked really 15 minutes, he said ok 20.. those 15-20 min turned in to 47 min. The employees seemed they didn’t care about their mistake. Not even an apology. Mistakes happen all the time but the attitude man! And in the end, blaming the kitchen staff not seeing the order. On top of that I paid for a super mazza appetizer sampler and I was even more disappointed because it didn't have what it described in the menu! We were missing the stuffed grape leaves, and the falafel was a joke..like they have someone with baby hands or used a teaspoon to make them. The fattoush salad didn't even have the fried pita in it and it was just a vinegary salad soup. They charged me $45 for the super mazza, and according to the description it serves 6 people. What I got would not even feed 4 people. Everything else was really really good. Amazing rice, kofta, chicken and beef kababs. It was very inconvenient having guests and making them wait for the food while fasting. I worked in customer service when mistakes happened we make sure our customers feel appreciated and we took responsibility for our mistakes. What happened Saturday was not nice and not at all professional. This will be the last time I will be ordering over the phone from this place and recommend to everyone reading this to make your order in person and check your order before you leave. The food is really good though, which is...
