This is in response to the "owners" reply.
Wrong! No, I did not eat my sandwich. As I stated, I took the one bite and knew that it was not the grilled honey buffalo sandwich I orderd. I was not asking for free food. I asked for a sandwich that i did not order and did not eat be taken off. That did not happen so yes, I was busted and disgusted with the way the "manager" handled the situation.
And to reiterate: I ordered a Grilled Honey Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. The sandwich I received was FRIED. The sandwich i received was NOT tossed in honey buffalo but was tossed in just plain buffalo sauce. So no, i did NOT receive the sandwich I ordered. So please explain how you can state I received the sandwich I ordered? And the honey buffalo does not come with bacon so i asked for bacon on the side.
Self gratification? Again, you got it wrong.
But thank you for your reply and poorly executed attempt to rectify the situation.
I hope you have a great weekend as well.
Attention
Tonight, my friends and I decided to meet at Leroy Fox South End; a place we frequent on a regular basis. I always order the same items, chef & cajun wings & a honey buffalo chicken sandwich with cajun fries.
Derrick was our server on tonight. My friends and I ordered cocktails, appetizers and water. Our waters took a while to come out, no biggie but we began to notice our cocktails were late to come out as well. A "manager" was cleaning the table next to ours so I asked about our cocktails and if our server was new. He stated our cocktails were on the bar and should have them soon and confirmed our server was new.
Our drinks finally came out. We waited a while longer for our appetizers but they never came out. We had to wave down the server and inquire about the food. He went to check and stated we were next and the food should be out soon. The food arrived. My friend and I ordered the wings and specifically detailed how we wanted the wings prepared. My wing order was correct but my boys wing order was all wrong.
My friends and I ordered our entrées. (My boy encouraged all of us to be as detailed as possible to help the new server). We each placed our orders and waited. The food finally came out. My homegirl's order was completely wrong everyone else's (except mines) were right.
Again, I ordered the honey buffalo chicken sandwich & added bacon & pepper jack cheese. When i received my sandwich, it had no bacon on it so I had to ask the manager for some. He complied. I took a bite of the sandwich and automatically knew it was a buffalo sandwich and not the sandwich i ordered. By this time, the kitchen was closed so there was no use in asking the manager to have the cook prepare another sandwich. I told the server that because i did not receive the meal i asked for, I did not think i should pay for the sandwich. The server stated okay. The manager then came over. This is where I became upset.
Note (I am the most laid back person you'd ever meet. I do not give servers a hard time (even if they deserve it) and i pride myself in being a VERY good tipper). The manager (the server said his name was Walter) comes to the table and inquired about my concerns. I explained what happened and he proceeds to tell me the sandwich i received was the honey buffalo chicken sandwich. I explained to him, i eat their often and kno what the sandwich tastes like, (minds you I asked for grilled chicken and it was fried). He says he was told by the kitchen manager that it was the honey buffalo chicken sandwich. I asked him multple times if he watched the cook make the sandwich. He couldn't answer question and continued to say, the kitchen manager told him it was the honey buffalo sandwich and that he could only give a discount. I dismissed him and said whatever you can do, do it. I get my check back and this guy gives me $1.50 discount. I was busted and disgusted. If you are reading this (mangers of Leroy besides "walter"), please vet your managers and servers. Ensure they know and can provide customers service. What happened tonight could have...
Read moreIt has dawned on me that I’ve never wrote a review for Leroy’s which is surprising because it’s my favorite restaurant in Charlotte. I remember moving here 5 years ago and stumbling upon them and just smiling from ear to ear because of how good the food was. If you don’t believe me ask Oprah, they say it’s one of her favorite places when she comes to visit. I’ve been coming ever since. I get the 1/4 south with the mac n chz with the pineapple sriracha dressing and it hits every time. The chicken is sourced locally and is seasoned and fried to perfection. No offense to Chicken Coop that was next to them but they didn’t even come close as being named the best spot in town for fried chicken.
I stopped by today for lunch and reminded the waitress to plz make sure cornbread was included because it wasn’t the last few times. She explained the owners took it down for quite some time now due to inconsistency. I asked to speak to a manager to see what I could find out. I didn’t catch his name but he kindly explained that it just wasn’t inconsistent enough most of the time and needed to be perfected between both locations. He said they’re trying out other options and plans to bring in some healthier dishes to the menu. Personally the cornbread was spot on every time I came in but I can appreciate the honesty instead of serving inconsistent food to us customers. I was surprised with a bread pudding dessert that was just as good. I would personally add a rum sauce to go on top minus the whip cream. The customer service has always been top notch and today was nothing short of a surprise.
I look forward to see what Leroy’s will bring in the future. In the meantime, stop by with your family/friends and enjoy an affordable, mouth watering meal that will make your day.
To the owners if you guys see this please find a way to bring back a cornbread and crab cakes. Thanks again for the...
Read moreWBTV News THIS MADE ME VERY UPSET 😠 So today we tried to experience this restaurant in the south end area of Charlotte. From the outside the atmosphere was great! People were enjoying the outside seating and honestly looked overall pleased. We walked in, the hostess was very nice and quickly found us a table; and it was really clean! Luckily we we sat by a nice family of 3. I couldn’t help but to hear the Manager loudly telling the mom of the family ” no you’re wrong”. I continued to look at my menu, but, because he was being so obnoxious I figured they knew one another. Then I over hear the lady tell him “but my daughter couldn’t eat the food” his response was “there was nothing wrong with your food, I watched it come out!” She said ” yes, our food was fine; but, my daughter couldn’t eat because the chicken was not seasoned and the waffle was hard” as she pointed to a full plate that her daughter hadn’t touched. She explained to him that all she wanted to do was get her daughters meal taken off, and that she was willing to pay for the food that had been eaten. Surprisingly they went back and forth for about 2 minutes. THEN I heard this flippant manager say I’M CALLING THE POLICE. 🤦🏽♀️ mind you she had an 8 year old child with her!!! And she never refused to pay!!!!! He LITERALLY CALLED THE POLICE!!! Scared out of her mind she begged him not to. My wife and I got up immediately and tried to leave. We saw the family get up to leave clearly out of FEAR so we let them go ahead of us. The extremely RUDE manager chased them out of the restaurant. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER GO BACK. I hate to make this a black and white thing but come on!!! It was a single black mom against a white man manager. what if she had a gun? What if the police came and assaulted her? Was a kids meal really worth it? SMH. He is...
