I have never been so thoroughly disappointed in a restaurant as I am in this place. A group of 9 went at 12:06 on a Sunday afternoon. There were zero customers in the place. We ordered several margaritas. A few minutes later, the waiter informed us that since the day before was National Margarita day, there were a lot of flavors that were not available. No problem! We ordered what they did have. It literally took 27 minutes to get our drinks. Again, the place was NOT busy. We ordered our food. We were informed this time that they had 86'd the bowls off the menu the night before and were unable to un-86 them that day. So they would ring in burritos but make the bowls. Ok! No worries! Another 20 minutes goes by and we start getting food. Great! Or so we thought. 3 of the bowls that were ordered were wrong, and I mean not even close to what the menu said was in the bowls. We sent those back. 4 people ordered shrimp tacos because there was NO mention on the menu of the shrimp tacos being hot. They were blazing! When we asked the waiter why they were hot, he explained that there was a typo on the menu and they missed adding the fire symbol but in fact, they were supposed to be hot. Ok, we all just added a good bit of sour cream to try and cool them down. At this point, we had been there for over an hour and a half, and not by choice. Now comes the fun part! The bill! We told the waiter who was getting what bill. He returned about 10 minutes later and said, " OK, I think we are all set. The first bill was overcharged by close to $40. When questioned, the waiter went back to the back. He came back to explain that he credited the account back the $96 and that person needed to pay the new bill of 40 something. We asked for a receipt to see what we were all paying. They charged for the burrito which was a higher price than the bowls that were ordered and made. The manager eventually was brought out and really acted like he could care less. The entire 2 hour ordeal was a disaster. The guy that was waiting on us really was trying. I felt bad for him. He did mention that not only was he our waiter, he also had to help in the kitchen to cook all of our food. The bartender was a joke. She didn't even make our drinks. The manager and server had to do that as well. I definitely hope they can get it together. This was just a very bad...
Read moreMy wife and I are big time fans of Condado after 10+ fantastic visits to the one in Pittsburgh which totally blew us away (you can see the review I left them).
Unfortunately this location has dropped the ball in a big way twice in a row. The first time we waited a while to be seated and were then totally forgotten in the middle of the restaurant with only a handful of tables occupied (it was like 10:30p) - service was sub par with the server flirting with some girls at a table for like 15 min straight (what?!) and the manager knew it so he kindly took the appetizer off the bill and apologized.
We returned last night for second chance and similar experience - our server was super nice and we loved her but the service itself was touch and go - it would be about 20 min between each time we saw her, again not very busy and this time during reasonable dinner hours. To give you some idea, a neighboring table accidentally broke a glass on the floor and nobody cleaned it up for at least 15-20 min even AFTER staff was notified - just glass sitting there in the open. Water never refilled. Chips so hard they could break a tooth. House salsa didn’t taste or look like it’s supposed to (comparing to menu and past experiences). Tacos were pretty good but they made the Ooey-gooey wrong with no sauce at all, completely dry (it’s supposed to have queso and dirty sauce). They kindly apologized and made another one which was amazingly still wrong - no queso! It was neither ooey nor was it gooey! I thought we were crazy and checked the menu to confirm - yes it’s supposed to have both sauces. Sadly despite our love for the theme and concept of Condado, we will not be returning to...
Read moreFirst time visiting this restaurant…. SO glad we did!!!
The restaurant is extremely clean and just really nicely decorated. The murals on the walls are ABSOLUTELY phenomenally done!
We asked our waitress/bartender (Chrissy) about the painting on the walls and she explained that there were several contributors to the work. I can’t speak enough on the overall “vibe” here I love all the colors and upbeat atmosphere.
Now, let’s discuss our waitress/bartender (Chrissy) She was ON her toes all evening. She not only helped tend to the bar; she also assisted with tables. She helped us immediately upon finding that the guacamole (pineapple) was too spicy for me to eat. *My husband loved it and I must admit that The initial taste is phenomenal a bit of sweet and savory and then the heat kicks in. *. I personally can’t really eat anything spicy and because the menu doesn’t notate the spiciness of it with the red star (???? I think) we mentioned it to Chrissy and She brought us queso which was FANTASTIC!!! We definitely appreciate her understanding and making sure we got something else to replace it. * the chips are freaking DELICIOUS!!!!
Chrissy interacted with us and kept following up with us to ensure we were taken care of. We never ran out of water and she most definitely did all she could in making our experience great.
So THANK YOU Chrissy!!!
So we went directly inside and sat a the bar. Which was a great decision! The tacos are outstanding!!!!!
We...
