I come here every week, sometimes multiple times a week to pick up tacos. they’re great, and I wouldn’t have had anything negative to say about this place if I hadn’t been stolen from and then blatantly lied to about it.
I use online pickup to order my lunch ahead, and then go to grab it on my lunch break. they see me every week and there’s always a particular younger male employee there, stocking & cleaning up and whatnot. I grab my food in the almost-empty restaurant and go over to the salsa bar for a moment. i put my phone and a vape pen with medication in it down to grab my salsa while the employee is right next to me restocking. I go over to the ice cream place next door, not connected by any wall, and I can see inside the restaurant the entire time. I realize i’ve left the pen on the counter and go back in to get it. the employee asks “looking for something?”, identified it, and smirks in my face as he tells me he threw my medication away. no context, no nothing, just a ridiculous grin and “i threw it away… yeah….” he saw me leave it there, he knew i was still in the building 5 feet away, and he threw it away because i set it down for under a minute? I have common sense. he took it. he knew what it was.
I go tell my friend and she leaves to see if they can “get it out of the trash” and comes back saying that not only did they lie about a customer complaining about my meds on the counter and “forcing them to throw it out” (again, i could see into the restaurant the entire time. that didn’t happen. it was nearly empty.), they have now mysteriously piled an entire bag of trash on top of it AND changed the trash cans. they just happened to do that in this nearly empty restaurant, less than a minute after i leave my pen on the counter. sure. so they lie about now magically “not being able to find” what they had just supposedly thrown away, and now they’re lying about how since i left it there it’s automatically a contaminant and it’s the law to throw it out. I have a food handlers license, that is not true. you don’t throw patron belongings out when you know they’re still there about to come look for it (even in a restaurant) and this dude didn’t even actually throw it out. the manager was incredibly angry at my friend the entire time despite not telling the story and only kindly asking if they could find what they threw away, insisting he didn’t take it when i never made that accusation. interesting.
incredibly gross behavior. I can’t imagine stealing something like that off of a stranger that they’ve put their mouth on before they even have a chance to leave the premises. congratulations, have fun sucking on my medication that i needed to eat in the...
Read moreI'll start by saying I have eaten at every other Sabor location and have had nothing but fabulous service and delicious food. But this location falls short of the lofty standards Sabor normally sets. We ordered our food about 20 minutes before closing and sat down to wait for our food to be brought out. They brought out the wrong order initially (which is hard to do in my opinion since they give you table numbers that your order corresponds to). Then they brought out our food in to go containers because even though they had not yet closed they wanted everyone to leave. The order was wrong and the cashier that took our order argued with us about it. Once we did receive our food the third time, we were already upset because they had messed up everyone else's order and started to close up shop even though there were several families still eating. We took our food and left, but the quality of our food was subpar and not at all what I'm used to at other Sabor locations. It is a new location so they may be just going through the motions, but we received horrible service. The only employee that treated us with any decency was a tall African American gentleman who repeatedly apologized for the mix up and offered his assistance at every opportunity. My advice is to stay clear of this location and enjoy the other spectacular locations that Sabor...
Read moreThis location is in the Bustling, bar hopping, safe feeling South End which is sprawling with young professionals. This location is by far the nicest Sabor I have been to. The staff members here are the best. One girl who worked here even thought I was on drugs when I was admiring how cool their wall covering was. Her boldness in saying such an abrasive comment to me was really rare. What a character! She should be put on stage.
As for the whole Sabor chain...
You CANNOT BEAT having a place where they have $1 tacos during happy hour and when it is Taco Tuesday!!! I recommend the grilled chicken taco if you are going to go that route. They have a plethora of things on the menu though. I do find that the shredded chicken can taste not as good as the other fillings. This place is a go to that many go to. The prices are unbeatable!! Is it going to taste as good as the taco shops and trucks on South Blvd. NO! Is it going to be a good...
