Cross contamination nightmare! My daughter wanted to go here for her birthday and we took a party of four. Little to no decor inside just homemade wooden booths. The table’s very tight for four and the cooktop’s even tighter. As first timers we expected some coaching on how to attack this but that was not the case. After everyone orders a protein, sides and drinks it’s to the max and it only gets worse as the refills come because nothing is cleared away. During refill trips multiple waiters knocked over empty beer cans I had piled up and would completely ignore it. Additional servings of raw meat spilling over the tiny plates contaminating servers hands and onto other dishes when crammed onto the crowded table. We tried keeping things organized the best we could by stacking our old meat containers on top of each other as new ones were brought out which creates a mess with all the residuals left in the plates. These are the same plates you eat off and they’re the size of an ashtray which makes sharing dishes difficult because you need to pull of done items but you can only place them on your soiled plate. All this’s just an inconvenience but the real problem is the single set of tongs you get to cook your protein. As you place your raw protein on the grill and flip the tongs are contaminated. I remedy this on my grill by burning my tongs in the open flame or simply get a new set after getting protein on the grill. Here you’re stuck with the same pair all night even when switching to different proteins. Near the end my OCD was through the roof and I wanted to request more tongs and have a word with someone about the issues but apparently we had become ghosts. We had to eventually pull our last rounds off with the same tongs and all left full plates because it was just too sketchy and we were all certain we would have food poisoning that night. Fortunately we made it through the night but by the end of the week our daughter became sick and discovered she had WORMS! After quite the ordeal of diagnosing and waiting on meds that cost $3,500 with insurance (she was able to get a generic replacement) now she’s waiting for her follow up appointment to make sure she’s completely rid of these parasites. After reading up on this issue it became obvious who the culprit was as it’s spread by raw meat, mainly beef and pork contaminated with worm eggs, these eggs can be spread by cross contamination ie waiters thumb in raw beef bowl then he goes and grabs the nexts tables salads or the tongs pulling off your steak while drenched in raw steak juice. I wanted to call the restaurant and tell them about this experience before writing a review but I revert back to our night there trying to get a managers attention and it’s not like there’s one guy running around overwhelmed. There are atleast 3 managers, supervisors or owners walking the restaurant constantly, they all looked like video game level bosses walking around with stern looks on their faces like a rival gang was ready to enter the restaurant at any moment and challenge them for their turf. Not once did any of these characters ask us how everything was or even say hello but we did notice a few regulars were showered with attention which always rubs me the wrong way. In summation I would avoid this place like a plague… or parasite. If you do decide to take your chances demand the removal of contaminated dishes often and a fresh set of tongs for removing completely cooked food but again the problem is that you shouldn’t have to ask for things like this, it should be common restaurant practice and something health inspectors may need to consider...
Read moreGreat place if you can afford it, but the parking situation is ridiculous.
We came in from out of town and the first thing we noticed upon arriving was their sign on the building is on the side and small/hard to read. Upon passing the place from the car we totally missed it, so there was some confusion but google maps was right.
The second thing and this is the big one was the parking situation. There are a few small signs in certain spots indicating some sort of lot number, but it's not on majority of the spots so we wasn't sure if it applied the the place we parked or not. Due to this we took pictures of the signs, and our plates just in case and found our way to the restaurant. It would have been nice to have signs pointing to the front door from the parking lot as again we were new and tried to walk into the unlabeled canopy area in the back, but quickly found out it was for the other restaurant.
Once inside we asked about the parking and was told we had to download some app (I didn't want) to our personal phone and there was no way to just validate it without putting this unknown software on our device.
So here I am, sitting at the table as we were immediately seated and the staff is bringing us the 20 side dishes and sauces and asking what we would like from the menu while still trying to download this stupid parking app and get my card put in and setup. This was very annoying to say the least and just started the whole experience with a bad taste in my mouth. What's more ridiculous is the bill for the parking was $4. All that hassle for 4 stupid dollars.
After that was out of the way we had a great selection of meats and foods that kept coming, they kept the grill decently hot and meats cooked at a good pace. All in all for two of us and tip it was about $100 which is expensive, but not bad for a special occasion a time or two a year on our budget.
Now for the kicker, on the way out they handed me a coupon for the parking. I went back into the app, managed to find the transaction and then put in the promo code, and guess what... the coupon has already expired or was invalid. HAHAHAHAHA how dumb.
Seriously, this place needs to figure out the parking situation, even if it requires moving and buying your own parking lot so you can tow away people yourself and not make your customers go...
Read moreMy little cousin, home from college and having the day off from her part-time job, wanted to spend time with her fam and took us to this place for lunch last Sunday together.
Hearing that it was first come first serve, often accompanied with a long wait with no exception to the everyone-in-party-must-be-present rule, we prepared to arrive early. And by early, I mean 30 minutes after it opened. Surprisingly, we had NO wait and were immediately seated for a party of 5 and a 2-year-old.
A friendly young waiter greeted us and was very attentive to our table, checking in on us frequently, answering questions as it was most of our first time doing kbbq, and making sure we were enjoying our experience. It was the little things like stopping by to adjust our grill's heat, replacing the water underneath, and cleaning our grill with the lime provided that I took special notice of.
I'd be remiss not to mention the food! For something like $34/person and all you can eat, we most definitely got our fill of meat! At first, I was thinking that was pretty pricy until we got into our meal. We ordered brisket, garlic marinated pork belly, regular pork belly, bulgogi, dumplings, eggs, and cheesy corn. And then we ordered MORE of the same. This was on top of the appetizers, which were already plentiful to start, kept on coming out as they asked if we'd like refills and we kept saying yes!
There's an extra 10% or so charge if you over-order food so try and be conservative as you order and then order more if you're still hungry. Your eyes are likely bigger than your stomach and you will get punished for it if they are. Fortunately, this was not a problem for us since they bring the food out SO quickly.
I was thoroughly full by the time we finished our meal and cannot remember ever feeling that extremely satisfied. We ended up having to walk it off at the Southpark mall afterwards and if I weren't preggo, would not have ended up needing dinner later that night!
I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the experience, the quality of food for the price, and for someone who's got an especially big...
