This museum far exceeded my expectations. When I decided to take my daughter I had very low expectations because I did not glean from the website That it would be entertaining. I was very wrong! My daughter and I had a very good time. There are all the usual illusions that you've seen before hanging on the walls and they're still very cool but it's so much more than that. It's a very interactive experience. They have staff that are stationed at the major exhibits to explain to you how to interact and also to take your picture. They go so far as to edit it so that it looks the way it's supposed to to create the illusion. There is an exhibit where you walk through a tunnel on a flat platform but the circular tunnel around you is moving and is all different colors but mostly a shade of blue. I could not walk straight to save my life! My daughter and I did it three times and at the end of the third time we were laughing so hard my stomach hurt. It also made me slightly nauseous just a small warning for anyone who gets seasick but not so much that you should not enjoy it. The only reasons I give it four stars instead of five is that it is a small museum and it is a little pricey. But... I can understand why because of the additional staff needed to help. Also I had to lift my daughter up for many of the illusions hanging on the wall because she's 10 and not very tall. Not the museum's fault. I would make one suggestion. They have instructions for each illusion and people to help but I might add a pre-recorded message that you could listen to along with reading the explanation. Maybe a video. It would also be cool if the museum itself took the photos. It would certainly be a way to generate income. Overall, I had a wonderful time and I would highly suggest...
Read moreThis place isn’t even considered average for the price. It’s one room, the size of a store in the mall. They allow tons of people in so you can’t even really experience everything. The whole point is to see the illusions and take photos as they have photo signs on the floor everywhere but with so many people, you can’t even get a photo. There were five staff members. One was polishing the mirrors, one was telling people where to stand for photos but not offering to take photos if you had groups of two and the other three were on their phones up front. You can’t get the real experience of illusions if you have a party of two and one person is in the photo while the other takes the photo. It should be timed slots for set amount of people so it’s not so crowded and you can get your moneys worth. We’ve been to tons of immersion experiences all over the country and this was by far a waste of money since half the exhibits you can see in a normal museum for free. Not to mention, they don’t even advertise on the website that they do walk in specials for teachers and military so when you buy tickets online which was recommended you pay full price, taxes, and an online fee. The least they could have done was advertise specials to get more business or not have an online fee if that’s what they urge you to do. I guess they don’t truly appreciate teachers or service members and just care about how much cash they can make in a day. Don’t waste your money, it’s...
Read moreWheelchair friendly? Yes. You can navigate the museum with plenty of ease. There's a few illusions you won't be able to enter but can still enjoy the rest. This place is also stroller-friendly. While a large one would be cumbersome, a "regular" stroller will do just fine. The price tag is pricey for what it is. Kids under 4 get in for free as do teachers and military with a valid ID/proof. Disability friendly? For the most part. Some attractions have flashing lights but they are covered with curtains and come with warnings on the walls letting you know what's going on inside. There are no attractions that make noise but the excitement from the other kids might be a bit much.
I was disappointed. We may not have used our time wisely, maybe that was the issue. But for $66 for two people and 30 minutes of walking around.. not worth it to me. While the illusions were cool, they became redundant. The same illusion but in a different pattern or different pose or color.. i dont know. Would this be cool for a teenager with a social media platform to post clever and unique photos? Absolutely. But for two people in their late 20s, we didnt find it to be as appealing or "exciting" as its portrayed online. We only enjoyed one piece of art which was the tunnel. But you can realistically only do it a handful of times before you want to puke.. lol
Anyway. I would not return personally. Its a "time filler" attraction but nothing worth traveling the...
