I have been going to this restaurant just about every weekend for over a year - service and food have always been great until last Saturday May 6, 2017. We came into restaurant behind this other couple that stood in front of the bakery where all stand to order take out so a server took us to a booth that was available, a minute later, same server came to us and asked if we could move to a table in the back as the couple before us had the booth assigned, we told them no, she came back again after talking to the other servers (we could here everything they were saying) and said the other couple had table assigned, I asked how was it assigned, was it reserved, she stated yes and right away changed to no when I said that restaurant does not take reservations. she went back to other servers and we could still here them talking about the "assigned" table. now there was more empty tables they could have sat them but just because they wanted a booth. We finally lost it and walked out letting them know we would never come back. There are other restaurants with same quality of food and that have no problem treating everyone equal. They have just lost a very loyal customer and we had recommended a lot of their clients. but not anymore as we will tell everyone what they did to us. We always tipped very well not the 2 or 3 dollars that Colombians usually tip. Servers that day were very rude. Hope the owner sees this and...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at an Ecuadorian restaurant and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The highlight of the evening was definitely the "caldo de pata" dish. This traditional Ecuadorian soup is made with beef or pork feet and is known for its rich and flavorful broth.
As soon as the bowl of caldo de pata was placed in front of me, I was immediately transported back to my grandmother's kitchen. The aroma alone brought back memories of her delicious home-cooked meals. The taste did not disappoint either. The broth was perfectly seasoned, with a depth of flavors that can only come from slow cooking and using quality ingredients.
The meat in the caldo de pata was incredibly tender and flavorful. It practically melted in my mouth with every bite. The dish was also served with a generous portion of rice, which soaked up the savory broth and added a nice texture to each spoonful.
The restaurant itself had a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly staff who were knowledgeable about the menu. The service was prompt and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
If you're looking to experience authentic Ecuadorian cuisine, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant and trying their caldo de pata. It truly is a taste of Ecuador that will transport you to your grandmother's kitchen and leave you craving for...
Read moreIt was wonderful as always. I try to go every week, maybe every 2 weeks. The lunch special should be declared the best in the city! Start with a tasty homemade soup, followed by a meat dish (could be beef, fish, or chicken, maybe pork?) accompanied by rice cooked the 'right' way, sometimes a salad, sometimes plantains. An American soda is included, all for $7.77. With all this food prepared daily, you cannot beat it! And they give you plenty. For just a little extra, add a piece of pan de bono (a roll made largely of cheese). I could devour 4 or 5 easily--incredible texture and taste. You may leave in tears it's all so good AND inexpensive. Ask for the green sauce/salsita verde and put on your main entree (or even on your salad like I do). Not hot even a bit, but so full of flavor. By the way, two different meat entrees are offered Mon. thru Fri. I had the shredded beef prepared in spices and a red sauce today, and it was wonderful, but I have an ongoing love affair with the chicken breast in mushroom sauce. Exquisite, so prepare yourself. Best lunch special in South Charlotte, I promise! English and Spanish are spoken here in case you were...
