I thought long and hard before writing this review, because we have enough to deal with as black peopleā¦.but if weāre to do well at serving one another, we should welcome constructive feedbackā¦..This was my second time eating at this restaurant. I came back specifically because of the food. Wednesday was my first, and the 17 year old young man who took my order was incredible. The food was absolutely delicious, however on Thursday the service was absolutely horrible and the food not so great because eating while upset makes a terrible meal. Iām convinced, that black people in certain capacities have no idea how to treat one another. And that if we followed the adage of treating people how we wish to be treated, our people would be further alongā¦ā¦Now had I been of another culture, this review would not exist. For some reason we cater to everyone else but us as if we donāt matterā¦ā¦My order was simple, 2 piece white chicken on a bed of rice with mac n cheese, collard greens and an extra corn muffin, which by the way I did not get. I asked that the rice not be under the chicken but placed to the side of the chicken in the same container. The cashier immediately tells me that this would be a problem, I give her a puzzled look of how difficult is it to put rice to the side. I then asked her how difficult and she says, they get upset if you do things like that and that this is not Burger Kingā¦..OKā¦..so I say to her, that putting rice to the side is an issue? She then says aggravated, theyāll have to put it in a separate container which will be an additional chargeā¦..OKā¦.so instead of fulfilling my request which Iām still unclear how it became unreasonableā¦..she said that she would just pay the charge instead of thinking from a customer standpoint and trying to solve an issue that may arise with other customers. Before my food came, I was seated by the door, and an older gentleman approached me and asked me my name not pleasant at all, obviously for my order that he was to bring outā¦ā¦I had to tell him three times what my name was, and after the third time he looked at me as if I was the problem. After I got my food and looked inside, I noticed the wing was terribly small (see the images for reference). I asked both he and the cashier was this the best wing they hadā¦ā¦they said that all the wings were that smallā¦..so I closed my mouth and took my food and left. Now to be fair, I met the owner once, and while I donāt know him personally, he seemed genuinely nice and concerned about service, and he deserves to know what is happening at the front of his house that may be potentially ruining his customers experience and possibly driving them away. Because employees will destroy your business and blame it on the customer. As I stated, the food is delicious, canāt take anything away from thatā¦..and notwithstanding, you canāt please everybody, someone will find fault no matter what you do. But I didnāt ask them to change the menu, nor to cook my food a certain way, just place my rice on the sideā¦but if this is what I get when I want a simple request, Iād rather spend that $17.21 with a proprietor that understands, by my mere presence in his or her establishment, presents the idea that I like what you sell and Iām here to support youā¦..and if I make a simple request, at least attempt to accommodate meā¦..or explain to me other than they donāt like doing that. I can assure you that not one of the people that served me, saw anything wrong with how they handled meā¦.all I wanted, was for them to put a spoon full of rice to the side of my chickenā¦ā¦and if thatās too difficult, then maybe I should be eating at Burger King. Againā¦ā¦this is not an attempt to ruin this business or persuade anyone from dining hereā¦.I highly recommend you try the foodā¦but this is merely to help them understand that people come to you for two reasonā¦ā¦great foodā¦ā¦great serviceā¦ā¦not an unnecessary conversationā¦ā¦.if the owners are reading this please know you have an incredible product but the wrong people executing itā¦ā¦..I put my rice to the...

Why? Lemon pepper wings were not good at all. When they were brought to the table they were sitting in grease/oil.(See pics below)
The ratio of lemon pepper to butter was way off off. I ate it only because my mommy said "we don't waste food in this house" so I've obeyed this since that time.
Very underwhelming....to say the least.

Whoever made it tasted like they just got out of a divorce and they car broke down 2 mins down the street from there job. Almost taste like frustration and disappointment.
WOW....thats harsh. Listen š¤£....I love Sweet Tea, and some ppl should never make Sweet Tea.

When making Grits it needs love and care, this wasn't that. When you think "Mass", quality escapes out the back door.

I so prayed that I took pictures, I honestly wish I did. Well what happened?
My wife and I arrived to the restaurant literally 30 mins after opening(literally). I told my beautiful wife "hey I'm going to the restroom".
I went thinking my expectations/experiences were going be met with "clorox/beach/dish dawn soap....or something to make you feel like its been cleaned and your the 1st person arriving to it.
And your right š®āšØ, I was the 1st person to see the restroom wasn't cleaned. Wait how can I be sure?
The sink was stained with "film" as if soap scum.....it was dirty, dirty. The bathroom smelled just like a "Sheetz bathroom/MCDONALD'S bathroom.....or one of those restrooms on the side of the road you hate to go to but you forced to because you can't hold it to find a "clean" restroom. Toilets...nasty.
I didn't wanna touch the faucet of anything else for fear I would catch something....again i wish I was lying.
My wife asked did I wanna leave and I said "no, let's at least see if the food is okay".
That restroom experience huge HUGE HUGE turn off......
Nasty restroom + okay food + sad tea = not coming back.....

First off my sister and I were at a college university, meet and greet party at the petty thieves bar literally walk around the corner. They had no food and I asked Manager working. Can we get some food? They told me and my sister about this place and said itās right around the corner. We initially were trying to order food to go. That didnāt work the website was crashing and we know why. I told my sister let me walk over there and place the order for some food and weāll eat here at the bar. Immediately upon opening the door, I was graded with so much joy and respect from the hostesses. I appear to be a white boy so I would stand out in this environment. I spoke to the hostesses and I looked around. I saw a DJ, a full liquor bar and a full restaurant and then I smelled the succulent juices and seasoning of soul food from my childhood. I immediately requested to reserve a table. The hostess put me in for 30 minutes later and that is last minute because this place was popping. I went back grab my sister and I said weāre gonna eat there. Itās a vibe. Immediately after coming back, we were seated given a menu and we already knew what we wanted. This food took me back to 1993 in my memory by the taste texture and smell. It took me back to my childhood of my grandmother. I saw her face for the first time in many years because of those candid yams and cornbread. This place is amazing. we took a plate home to (dad) and our dad said this is just like Mamaās cooking on Thanksgiving. We didnāt get any turkey or any ham but cornbread, canned yams the collard greens my goodness I canāt speak enough about our experience. When you go to a new restaurant that you have never been before, and it shoots you back to your childhood to a positive time of happiness. It just brings a smile to your face. weāll see you all next weekend. Iām bringing the family.
