My best friend and I bought tickets to the WALE concert last week and did not have best experience. My best friend is in a wheel chair and we got ADA tickets. As far as going through the line to get into the venue everything was fine. There was a ticket agent that helped my best friend go through the check in and the agent at the door let us know where the ADA section was. When we get into the ADA section we sat in the 2nd row. There were 4 concert attendants that were sitting in front of us. During the performance of the openers everyone in the 2nd and 3rd row were siting down and enjoying the music. The concert attendants in front of us were standing up to get their drink , going to the bathroom, etc. and when they came back to the section they would sit down. After the openers preformed, It took about 15 to 20 mins before they announce Wale was coming on stage. From my understanding if you are in ADA you have to sit down to accommodate other concert goers who may not be able to see the performer. When the DJ started playing the opening number for WALE the 4 concert attendants (Plus their two friends they invited into the ADA section) started standing up. NO ONE IN ADA SECTION COULD SEE WALE ONCE THEY STARTED STANDING UP. My best friend kindly asked the lady that was blocking her view if she could kindly sit down so she could see. This woman literally ignored my best friends request and continued to stand. I then tap the lady on her shoulder and let her know we are unable to see and she still did not sit down. I then tell her friend that we can’t see and it is not fair that they are standing up and they are not respecting our request. Not only does my best friend and I get mad everyone in the entire ADA section is mad because what the 4 concert attendant (Including the lady we asked to sit down twice) were doing was disrespectful. There was a guy and his girlfriend sitting beside my best friend and he saw that my best friend was upset and he suggested that him and his girl friend would switch seats with us so she would see. There was a lady behind my best friend(in Gray) and a lady sitting beside me (in a White shirt) that were both upset about the situation and they also told the 4 concert attendants in the front what they were doing was disrespectful and unfair. After my best friend and everyone in the section tried to explain to them that what they were doing was wrong my best friend was so upset she no longer wanted to be there. We left after 5 mins into Wale performance because she no longer felt comfortable being there. I want to thank the The lady in gray, The lady in the white, and the guy that suggested to switch seats with us. I appreciate you all for helping us last Sunday.
And to the Fillmore,
There needs to be better ADA protocols. We shouldn’t have went through all of this during a concert we paid money for. Bystanders had to help with the situations and there was no Fillmore Representative/Concert Agent in the sections to even help us out. This is not fair and you all need to make better...
Read moreI’m giving a blistering review of this venue. It doesn’t even rate one star. BE WARNED‼️ If you purchase anything from the bar, be sure to check your bank, or credit card accounts for any unauthorized transactions. Earlier this month, my husband and I attended a concert at The Fillmore Charlotte. My husband purchased ONE drink from the bar, however, upon viewing my bank account the next day, I saw that we were charged for FOUR (4) drinks instead of ONE!! The total came to $53.59, when it should have only been $22.73. I immediately reached out to the venue to inform them of the unauthorized transactions. I received a response from the GM, Courtney Ezell. She asked for the last four-digits of my credit card that was used (it was actually my debit card). I provided her with the information. The following was her response and final decision:
“These charges are not duplicates and are all ordered at different times. We don't keep credit cards on file at any of our GA bars, which is where these charges were made. Normally if it is a fraudulent charge or misring, they are all rang up within a minute of each other. This is not the case. The drinks were ordered at different times. I cannot refund them. I am sending the receipts of all the checks”.
I was in disbelief! The only thing those receipts showed were the drinks that were charged to my bank account. Of which THREE (3) were UNAUTHORIZED!!! They apparently have a bartender in their employment who is a thief. Those receipts also showed the Clerk ID numbers! That’s right — plural. The clerk who rang up my husband’s drink, was NOT the same clerk who rang up the (3) unauthorized transactions! We were seated to the left of the bar, and I watched as the first clerk rang up my husband’s ONE drink. He never returned to the bar, and I don’t drink. During the period the (3) drinks were ordered at different times, my husband and I were in our seats. I told the GM to review video footage from that night, showing neither of us were at the bar AFTER the first transaction. The Fillmore raped my bank account of $53.59. That money was already earmarked for medication and gas. We will NEVER return to the venue. I exposed this in detail, in order to warn others. I imagine this is not the first time that theft by an employee has occurred. Remember Ms. Ezell’s words, “Normally if it is a fraudulent charge or misring, they are all rang up within a minute of each other…”. NORMALLY??!! So now theft is the “norm” at The Fillmore? Theft is NEVER acceptable. The GM never refunded me. Shameful. Keep an eye on your accounts if you ever attend an event at the venue, and make purchases. Outrageously unbelievable — as if their prices aren’t already through the roof!! Now you have to monitor theft....
Read moreThe Fillmore Charlotte and Live Nation: How They Robbed Me of a Chance to See Marilyn Manson
I’ve been a die-hard Marilyn Manson fan for years. So when I heard he was coming to The Fillmore Charlotte, I was ready. I marked the date, set my reminders, and was poised at my computer the second tickets went live. What happened next wasn’t just disappointing—it was infuriating.
Within minutes of tickets going on sale, they were gone. Not to fans like me who’d been eagerly waiting, but to scalpers and bots who swooped in and snatched them all up. Moments later, those same tickets were listed on resale sites at prices that could make your head spin. What should have been a chance to see one of my favorite artists turned into yet another reminder of how venues like The Fillmore and ticketing giants like Live Nation are failing fans.
Live Nation has built a system that feels rigged against real people. They claim to offer “fan-first” experiences, but in reality, they’ve created a scalper’s paradise. The Fillmore Charlotte, by continuing to work with Live Nation, is complicit in this mess. They’re enabling a system where bots win and fans lose.
And let’s not pretend this is about anything other than greed. The Fillmore benefits from Live Nation’s inflated prices and bloated fees. Meanwhile, fans like me—who love music, who keep the industry alive—are left in the dust. This isn’t just about one show. It’s about a system that treats fans like an afterthought.
I’m angry because I wanted to experience the thrill of seeing Marilyn Manson live in a venue like The Fillmore. Instead, I got a front-row seat to how little these companies value their audiences. And the worst part? They won’t lift a finger to change it. There’s no transparency, no effort to block scalpers, no alternatives to make ticketing fairer.
What’s the point of supporting venues like The Fillmore if they’re going to keep siding with Live Nation’s exploitative practices? They’re supposed to be champions of live music, yet they’ve sold out to the highest bidder.
I won’t forget this. And I know I’m not the only one. Until The Fillmore Charlotte and Live Nation start putting fans first, they don’t deserve our loyalty—or our money.
