Pizzeria Sapienza Dilworth — Restaurant in Charlotte

Delicious New York Style Pizza & Hoagies/Subs! I've spent months out of the year in New York as well as Philadelphia and have lived in Charlotte for 16+ years now and this is one of my new favorite pizza spots in Charlotte for a quality NY Style Pizza. The crust is perfectly thin with the right amount of crunch and the perfect ratio of sauce and cheese. The flavor of the cheese is fantastic with the right level of thickness for a NY Style pizza. The crust has the right amount of crunch and is what you want in a NY style pizza. My father is from Philly so I genuinely can't compare the chicken Philly Cheese steak to one from Philly, but the ingredients were quality and fresh, the bread was nicely crunchy on the outside while still maintaining the soft middle, and the pepper jack cheese was perfectly melted to cover the entire surface of the meat and veggies, holding them in nicely and adding food flavor to every bite, even if just eating the end bread piece. I was not able to try the wings on this visit but I will definitely try them next along with the calzone. The staff was extremely friendly and even asked questions like how I wanted the pizza which I greatly appreciate since I like my pizza with a little more crisp than others might, so he even asked if I wanted it a little crispier and if I wanted mayo on the bun of my chicken pilly hoagie. I would absolutely go back to this place for delicious New York...

Pizzeria Sapienza in Dilworth was a pleasant surprise in the sea of pizza restaurants that dot the Charlotte landscape.

Tried the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and it was the best in Charlotte so far. It was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. It was tender and juicy Steak on a soft bread that just melted together with flavor in every bite. All that deliciousness was only $12.99 after tax ...a bargain compared to what a lot of places charge now.

The location was very clean and well organized. The staff provided great customer service and made great suggestions and were very patient. They also sell pizza by the slice like a true pizzeria.

This is definitely a location to visit whenever you are in the Dilworth area and bring your entire group. They have a menu with a lot of offerings to fit almost every appetite.

They have plenty of free parking near the entrance. The lot is shared with a major grocery store. You can eat at the small counter They have but this location appeared to best suited...

I so wanted to like this place, I gave them multiple shots with different types of pizza. All of the times were a let down. I tried their pizza by the slice. They put it in the oven and warmed it. that made the crust super tough and dry. The Toppings were middle of the road at best. Tried multiple variants, pepperoni, sausage, cheese and even some of their specialties with honey and balsamic vinegar (seemed experimental) The flavors did not combine well. Thinking that I was doing it wrong by getting Pizza by the slice, I ordered a whole pie. Got the Hawaiian pie. The crust this time was not bad. The toppings however was a total let-down. The Pineapple was barely cooked, and the Ham was cubed, also barely cooked. That was the last...
